Interrobang and Rivendell Theatres Announce A MILE IN THE DARK Next Month

Interrobang Theatre Project (ITP) and Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE) will present the world premiere of Emily Schwend's riveting new drama A Mile in The Dark, directed by ITP Artistic Director and Rivendell Theatre Ensemble member Georgette Verdin*^, playing November 10 – December 11, 2022 at Rivendell Theatre, 5779 N. Ridge Ave. in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood.

Greenbrier Valley Theatre to Open 2022 Season with SILENT SKY

Silent Sky tells the story of real-life astronomer Henrietta Leavitt and the work she and a group of female colleagues did to map out the night's sky while working in the Harvard Observatory. The show mixes humor, wit, and human emotion while exploring the hardships of women breaking into the world of science in the early 1900s.

INTO THE BEAUTIFUL NORTH Extends at 16th Street Theater

16th Street Theater's 10th Anniversary Season continues with the National New Play Network rolling world premiere of INTO THE BEAUTIFUL NORTH by KAREN ZACARÍAS adapted from the novel by LUIS ALBERTO URREA and co-directed by ANN FILMER and MIGUEL NUÑEZ, April 13 - June 3, 2017 at North Berwyn Park District's 16th Street Theater, 6420 16th Street in Berwyn, with Press Opening on Thursday, April 20 @ 7:30 PM.  

BLIZZARD '67 Extends Into March at 16th Street Theater

16th Street Theater's 10th anniversary season begins with BLIZZARD '67 by JON STEINHAGEN directed by ANN FILMER now runs through March 4, 2017 at North Berwyn Park District's 16th Street Theater, 6420 16th Street in Berwyn.  

Photo Flash: THE SEAGULL at The Artistic Home

In The Artistic Home's production of Anton Chekhov's classic comedy of unrequited love and unrealized dreams, The Seagull, Company Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra (a Jeff Award nominee for The Artistic Home's Sweet Bird of Youth) plays the role of Madame Arkadina, the fading actress in love with a younger man, Trigorin. Scot West, previously seen at The Artistic Home in Watch on the Rhine, Interrogation and Miracle on 34th Street and in Griffin's Men Should Weep is the writer Trigorin. Brookelyn Hebert, of AH's Macbeth and Cut to the Chase, plays the young actress Nina, who is a rival to Arkadina for Trigorin's affections. In the role of Arkadina's son Konstantin, who competes with Trigorin for Nina's love, is AH ensemble member Julian Hester, a Jeff nominee for The Late Henry Moss.

A STEADY RAIN Plays the MAC This Weekend

Following a sold-out Jeff Award-winning initial run at Chicago Dramatists, a Broadway production starring Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman, Keith Huff's 'A Steady Rain' comes to Glen Ellyn's McAninch Arts Center's, 425 Fawell Blvd. in the intimate Playhouse Theatre for a limited run, this weekend, Oct. 24-26.
