The OCTG Theatre Awards unveils its list of nominees, including productions of 'Ride the Cyclone,' 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder,' 'Clybourne Park,' 'Yellow Face,' and 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.'

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, has announced that “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” will be the fifth show in its 25th Anniversary Main Season. Based on Mark Haddon's best-selling 2003 novel, the play is written by Simon Stephens and will be directed by resident artist Darryl B. Hovis.

Live theater was celebrated again on Monday night during the second OC Theatre Guild Awards ceremony at the Samueli Theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, which was again nearly filled to the rafters with artists from all over the county.

The OC-centric New Play Festival returns live onstage and on the web this summer. OC-centric, which was awarded the honor of Orange County's 'Best New Play Festival' by the OC WEEKLY, is the only theatre festival devoted to new works from dramatists who live in or hail from Orange County.

Live theater has not been killed off by the pandemic; it came roaring back Monday night during the inaugural OC Theatre Guild Awards ceremony at the Samueli Theater at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, which was nearly filled to capacity.

The added performances will be on Saturday, March 5th at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday, March 6th at 3 p.m.

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, proudly presents the groundbreaking musical, “Next to Normal” as the first show in its 24th Anniversary Season. Directed by Matthew McCray with music direction by Stephen Hulsey, “Next to Normal” will run January 28 - February 27, 2022 on the Cripe Stage at the Bette Aitken theater arts Center. 

A team of Starlight multimedia and production staff worked to capture this concert offering at a safe social distance at Starlight in mid-January. The project was 100% local, and the streaming performance is an exclusive premiere with Starlight@Home to help support both the theatre and the artists during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following two successful streaming events, Starlight has collaborated with one of Kansas City's most popular bands for a one-night-only virtual concert, playing Friday, February 19 with Starlight@Home.
