On Saturday, May 5th 2018, Take Wing And Soar Productions (TWASInc), an award winning, Harlem-based, professional Theater Arts Corporation held its Fifteenth Anniversary Gala Celebration, the TAKE WING AND SOAR SPIRIT OF EXCELLENCE AWARDS, at Columbia University's Lerner Hall Roone Arledge Auditorium. The elegant afternoon featured esteemed hosts, talented classical actor/singers and the Volunteer Divas who were joined by approximately 120 business leaders, artists, patrons, volunteers, friends and alumni.

Bold New Voices: Past, Present and Future, a collaboration between My Image Studios Harlem (MIST Harlem) and Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre Group will present a film screening of the Royal Shakespeare Company's critically acclaimed Pan African production of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, starring an all Black British cast, on June 22 at 7:00pm at My Image Studios Harlem (MIST Harlem), 46 West 116th Street.

Woodie King Jr.'s National Black Touring Circuit, in conjunction with Voza Rivers/New Heritage Theatre Group, held a special presentation of the 2015 Black History Month Play Series at Harlem Hospital on February 15 with a special reading of Ossie Davis' 1950s Civil Rights school desegregation play The People of Clarendon County and the one man show Adam, the story of Harlem minister and congressman Adam Clayton Powell. Both plays will be performed February 20 - 22 at Mind-Builders Performing Arts Center in the Bronx. Check out photos below!

Woodie King's National Black Touring Circuit's 2015 Black History Month Play Series will feature "Adam," the story of legendary Congressman Adam Clayton Powell, and a reading of Ossie Davis' seminal play "The People of Clarendon County" from February 8 - 22 in Harlem, Queens and the Bronx. Woodie King, Jr.'s New Federal Theatre's 44th anniversary will culminate with a special Gala at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center (199 Chambers Street) on Sunday evening March 16th. This special event saluting NFT, for over 40 years a seminal force in Black Theater, will be hosted by Danny Glover and Debbi Morgan. Honorary Chairmen are Harry Belafonte and Hon. Mayor David N. Dinkins. The celebration will kick off at 4pm, and feature performances from Daniel Beaty, Impact Repertory Theater (Academy Award Nominee, 'Raise It Up' from the film August Rush), Chuck Jackson, and Valerie Simpson.
