On May 13, the OBIE-winning HERE will honor MacArthur fellow Taylor Mac and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation ArtsProgram at BLOOM, HERE's annual spring gala. The evening celebrates Mac, a playwright, actor, singer-songwriter, performance artist, director and producer and "critical darling of the New York scene" (New York Magazine) who also has been HERE's resident playwright since 2016. Mac's current Broadway debut, Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus, was commissioned by HERE and written during Mac's residency.

Talking Band, the seminal downtown New York City theater collective, continue their 40th anniversary celebration with a gala evening that will bring together many of the countless artists with whom they have collaborated since Paul Zimet, Ellen Maddow and Tina Shepard founded the company in 1974. The event will take place Monday, April 27 at the Ukrainian National Home Ballroom (140 Second Ave, between St. Mark's Place and East 9th Street) in the East Village. Proceeds will support the Talking Band's artistic programs.

'Desperate Archives' is a gallery exhibition in which Peggy Shaw and Lois Weaver of Split Britches re-purpose their own archival material from the last 20 years to explore the issues of having, holding, and letting go.
