Compagnia de' Colombari, an international collective of performing artists founded and directed by Karin Coonrod, presents More Or Less I Am: a music-theater piece drawn entirely from Walt Whitman's revolutionary free verse long poem, 'Song of Myself,'one of the original twelve pieces that comprise his 1855 collection Leaves of Grass. The next performance in this series, spanning multiple venues throughout the five boroughs, will take place on Sunday, May 26, 2019, 7:30 pm at Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that singer-songwriter Vanessa Carlton will be the next Carole King in Broadway's Beautiful. Carlton takes over the role from Chilina Kennedy, who departs the production on June 26.

'Dream Within a Dream' is the new 7-inch single from pop savant Tristen, out May 10 via Louisville's This Man Records. Crafted from Edgar Allan Poe's classic poem, the single - like the mononymous singer-songwriter and musician known for her 'knack for penning an infectious hook' (Entertainment Weekly) - marries complex, introspective lyrics with rollicking, jangly guitars.

3-D Theatricals (3DT) rings in its 2017-1018 season at both the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center (RBPAC) and the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) with Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, a musical comedy from the Broadway creative team of the 12-time Tony Award winning smash hit The Producers. The production, with music and lyrics by Brooks and a book by Thomas Meehan, is a hilariously tuneful show based on the 1974 smash hit film Young Frankenstein which was a wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic from the comic genius of Mel Brooks. David Lamoureux directs with Corey Hirsch serving as Musical Director and Daniel Smith as Choreographer. The School Of American Ballet (SAB) held it's annual alumni cocktail reception on June 2, 2017. The SAB event was held at it's Lincoln Center location and was attended by many of it's illustrious alumni.  SAB is one of the most famous classical ballet schools in the world and is the school of George Balanchine's New York City Ballet, a leading international ballet company based at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. The school trains students from the age of six, with professional vocational ballet training for students aged 11-18.

Nathan Lucrezio, currently in the cast of Broadway's Aladdin, recently posted a YouTube video in which he mashed up some of his favorite songs. 'Waving Through a Window' from Dear Evan Hansen is at the spine of the mashup, which also includes 'Ordinary Girl' and 'A Thousand Miles' both by Vanessa Carlton, 'No Day But Today' from Rent, and 'Just Another Day' from Next to Normal. Lucrezio called upon some of his friends, Caroline Bowman (Wicked), Samantha Massell (Fiddler On the Roof), Trent Saunders (Aladdin), and Angelo Soriano (Aladdin) to create the video.

Actor and musician David Rowen has produced a new music video for his YouTube channel, davidrowen/creative, featuring two classic songs from the early 2000s. He blends together the chart-topping piano ballad, 'A Thousand Miles,' by Vanessa Carlton, and the platinum punk anthem, 'Ocean Avenue,' by Yellowcard released in 2002 and 2003, respectively.
