Rachel Brosnahan’s Scrap Paper Pictures will co-produce an Off Broadway limited benefit engagement of The Great Filter for three nights only, July 1-3, 2021.

SYFY today announced a Season 5 pickup of the critically acclaimed UCP drama, THE MAGICIANS, just one day before the series' 13-episode fourth season premiere. Based on the bestselling novels by Lev Grossman, THE MAGICIANS centers on a group of 20-something friends from Brakebills University as they discover their magical abilities and ward off evil creatures who threaten to destroy the magical world they've come to know. Season 4 premieres on SYFY tomorrow, Wednesday, January 23 at 9/8c.

Syfy has picked up a fifth season of the fantasy drama series The Magicians', according to Deadline.

The ABC Television Network has announced midseason premiere dates for the mini-series 'When We Rise' and series premiere dates for the one-hour drama 'Time After Time,' half-hour comedy 'Imaginary Mary' and the event movie 'Dirty Dancing,'

At Sunday's Television Critics Association's summer press tour, Jennifer Grey revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that she turned down an offer to appear in ABC's upcoming remake of the 1980's classic DIRTY DANCING. 

Broadway stars and a host of musical presentations are on tap for the upcoming 2016-17 primetime television season. Included in THE LINEUP will be new series starring HAMILTON's Christopher Jackson, FROZEN's Kristen Bell and BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY star Stephen Pasquale.

Update: Despite reports yesterday that ABC's DIRTY DANCING remake may feature a handful of original songs when it premieres later this year, representatives from both the network and Lionsgate have now confirmed to BroadwayWorld that no new tunes will be inserted into the original material. ABC's update will instead remain in line with the original 1987 blockbuster film.

This morning BroadwayWorld participated in a media conference call with ABC president Channing Dungey regarding the network's just-announced 2016-17 programming slate.

ABC continues its commitment to distinctive storytelling with the announcement of its 2016-17 slate of programming, including the addition of nine new series.
