After a successful run of Rak of Aegis Online, the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) announces another streaming play to cap 2021. This time, PETA revamps Rody Vera’s provocative, relevant, and heart-wrenching anthology drama on HIV, Under My Skin, directed by Melvin Lee, from the stage to the screen, together with esteemed advocacy organizations The Red Whistle and LoveYourself, and UNILAB, Inc., PETA’s major co-presenter.

The Bridge Initiative returns to Tempe Center for the Arts with A Feminine Ending and just be in January 2022. Both offerings interrogate gender and identity in different and complementary ways. The performances run Friday, January 14th through Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, tickets $12-$30 (plus fees) with the a discount if you purchase tickets to both events.

Diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer at six months old, 22-year-old Shauna’s treatment allowed for remission, but resulted in a side effect – she stopped growing. The chemotherapy made her pituitary gland almost dormant, leaving Shauna with a childlike appearance and standing at only 3 feet and 10 inches tall.

The Philippine Educational Theater Association’s HIV and AIDS advocacy play “Under My Skin,” staged about two weeks shy of the first Metro Manila lockdown, was recently restaged and filmed for an online streaming version. Scripted by Rody Vera and directed by Melvin Lee, “Under My Skin,” is available to watch online until today, December 5, at Ticket2Me.

Graci McGillicuddy, All Star Children’s Foundation’s co-founder and board chair, announced recently that the board of directors has appointed Sharon Ghazarian, Ph.D, as its new CEO. Dr. Ghazarian had served as All Star’s chief research officer since July 2020.

Kiki Dranias burst onto the Montreal theatre scene in 2019 with her theatrical work, GOING UP, which went on to receive seven nominations at the 2020 Montreal English Theatre Awards (METAs), winning three for Outstanding New Text, Outstanding Emerging Playwright & Producer and Outstanding Independent Production. Her follow-up play, WHERE IS ANTON, which she also directed, was performed live at the Montreal Fringe Festival in June 2021, with six sold-out performances. Dranias' new play, THE LOVE TRIAL, a play she wrote and is producing with full support from Canada Council for the Arts, runs December 2 - 11, 2021 at the Masonic Temple Hall in Montreal.
