BWW Interview: Theatre Life with Adelina Mitchell

Sometimes a young artist makes a big impression on an ornery arts reviewer first time out of the box. Today’s subject Adelina Mitchell did just that to me and my wife a few years ago. More on that later on in the column. Now you can see her incredible talents for yourselves from the comfort of your own home Constellation Theatre Company’s streaming presentation of The Last Five Years. The production is available from June 22nd through July 11th.

THE FREEWHEELIN' INSURGENTS to Premiere as Part of Arena Stage's ARENA RIFFS

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater has announced the second installment in the Arena Riffs series on March 31 at 7 p.m. The Freewheelin’ Insurgents is a pandemic-era hip-hop musical written, directed and performed by award-winning playwright, director and actor Psalmayene ‘Psalm’ 24 (Arena’s The 51st State, May 22, 2020).  

Arena's Commissioned Music Series, Arena Riffs, Begins Next Week

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater will debut the first installment in the Arena Riffs series on Wednesday, March 17 at 7 p.m. The three-part series begins with a musical memoir composed and performed by award-winning indie-folk duo Abigail and Shaun Bengson.

Kelley, will run in repertory with Les Deux Noirs: Notes on Notes of A Native Son, inspired by James Baldwin's blistening critique of Wright's controversial work.
