Actor/singer Scott Dreier needs no introduction. His involvement with The Doris Day Project is amazing and next Sunday he will present The Merry Little Christmas Show for two performances only at the Colony Theatre. In the conversation that follows he talks in depth about both. Tell our readers about your Christmas show. Is this the first time you have done one at Christmas? SD: This is my first official Christmas show! Of course, as a singer, I have been hired many times over the past years to sing for different Christmas and holiday events. And I have always absolutely loved getting to sing these timeless, gorgeous songs. I have always wanted to create a holiday show. And the inspiration for it has been watching those classic Christmas specials of Perry Como, Andy Williams, The Carpenters, etc. No matter how many times I watch those specials during the holidays, it just feels like they are each effortlessly transporting me with them into the cozy comfort of their living rooms.a?? And I wanted to create a show that would honor that feeling that we all get and just help take people

During the week of Dec. 2, 2019, ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” ranked as the week's No. 1 late-night talk show outright in Adults 18-49, edging out CBS' “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” (427,000 vs. 424,000) and NBC's “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (418,000). In addition, despite airing a repeat telecast on Friday (versus four original broadcasts for “Fallon”), “Kimmel” outdrew “Fallon” by 10% in Total Viewers (1.876 million vs. 1.713 million) to stand as the No. 2 talk show of the week.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. That's a sentiment that has been expressed for many years, sometimes merely through the utterance of the sentence, but usually through the singing of the popular song written by Meredith Wilson in 1951. A holiday tradition returns as the McCallum Theatre welcomes the Dave Koz and Friends Christmas Tour 2019 at 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18. Grammy honored JC Hopkins and his Biggish Band will be playing musical host at the legendary Minton's Playhouse for ringing in the New Year and no better place to do it than at the birthplace of bebop. The Biggish Band has backed a number of musical legends in its time including Norah Jones, Elvis Costello, Tony Bennett, Jazzmeia Horn and Jon Hendricks to name a few.

South Korean artist Elli K takes on a classic, award-winning, song, “The Shadow of Your Smile”, in her latest single release for her upcoming EP, Love Collage. Originally performed by the acclaimed Tony Bennett, Elli K brings a new delicacy to the 1966 Grammy Awarded 'Song of the Year'. The single was recorded at the prestigious Capitol Studios and EastWest Studios in Hollywood, CA. The full album, Love Collage, will be released in March of 2020.

Each renowned for their outstanding solo work, these powerhouse musicians including Cécile McLorin Salvant (Vocals), Renee Rosnes (Music Director and Piano), Anat Cohen (Clarinet and Bass Clarinet), Melissa Aldana (Tenor Saxophone), Ingrid Jensen (Trumpet), Noriko Ueda (Bass), and Allison Miller (Drums) captivate audiences with bold new arrangements of classics by The Beatles to Thelonious Monk, as well as strikingly original compositions by the group's members.

On December 6, the Roberta Piket Sextet will pay tribute to the music of legendary jazz pianist and NPR radio host Marian McPartland, a close friend of Piket's who passed away in 2013 at the age of 95. An acclaimed pianist, organist, composer, and arranger, Piket will be joined in concert by the five-time Grammy-nominated vocalist Karrin Allyson.

For her 4th CD release, vocalist/violinist Calabria Foti wanted to do an album like her vocal heroes did back in the day; that is, with a big orchestra and legendary arrangers on the podium in an iconic Hollywood recording studio. Ms. Foti says, “This is the most expansive project I have ever done, and at the same time, it's the most intimate and personal. I recorded at Capitol Records with a full orchestra, singing some of the most endearing, sentimental songs ever written, all for my loved ones. This album is a full-production tear-jerker!”

Two generations of great vocalists take the stage at the College of Saint Elizabeth on Thursday, November 14, as the iconic Marilyn Maye joins rising star Danny Bacher with Pat Longo's 16-piece Hollywood East Coast Big Band and special guest Harry Allen on tenor saxophone.

In October 2019, Grammy-nominated saxophonist Dave Koz released his new holiday album, Gifts of the Season. In the 11-track collection, Koz takes a very different stylistic approach, bringing a buoyant, soul/funk/pop feel to Christmas classics across different eras, and shedding new light on their rich musicality and lyrical depth. The accompanying 22nd annual Dave Koz & Friends Christmas Tour will feature Jonathan Butler, Melissa Manchester, Michael Lington, and special guest Chris Walker, all of which appear on the new album. Butler and Lington have also released new Christmas albums this fall, so in a first for the tour, the show will feature material from three brand new holiday albums.
