Work Light Productions announced casting today for the 50th Anniversary Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's iconic musical, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. Winner of the 2017 Olivier Award® for Best Musical Revival, the North American presentation of the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's production will tech in Syracuse, NY. The tour will officially launch at Austin's Bass Concert Hall on October 8th through the 13th before visiting over 30 cities including Los Angeles, Denver, Nashville, Dallas and Chicago.
There's no doubt that dark times are ahead for the people of Berlin in this faithful recreation of the tawdry 1998 Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of CABARET. Using the original Broadway sets by Robert Brill and costumes by William Ivey Long, this Ogunquit Playhouse version, running now through August 10, is rough, tough and gritty, taking the implied decadence and hedonism of pre-World War II Germany and attaching it blatantly to every denizen of the speakeasy known as the Kit Kat Klub.

The New York Theatre Festival selected 120 productions for their Summerfest Competition this year which was held from July 11th through October 4th, 2018 at The Hudson Guild Theater. On October 9th, the awards ceremony took place. LET THERE BE LIGHT, a new musical with Book, Music, and Lyrics by Brianna Barnes, took home the top prize of BEST MUSICAL/PLAY and won $3,500. LET THERE BE LIGHT also won BEST SCORE, and received three Best Singer nominations (Lou Steele*, Tommy McDowell,* and Brianna Barnes) as well as a Best Actress nomination (Calli McRae).

Broadway Sessions recently celebrated the music of award winning composing team Thomson and Desmon. Jeffrey Thomson and Jeremy Desmon are responsible for musicals One Hit Wonder, The Oliver Experiment, Pump Up the Volume and the highly anticipated Nancy Drew. BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. This Thursday night, March 1st, Broadway Sessions welcomes and all star cast to sing the music of award winning musical theatre composers Thomson and Desmon.
