The Award-Winning Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) and Artistic Director Tom Wojtunik are pleased to announce their production of Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein II's ALLEGRO, choreographed by Christine O'Grady, musical directed by Julianne B. Merrill and directed by Wojtunik. ALLEGRO will play a limited engagement at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 30-44 Crescent St (@30th Rd), in Astoria, Queens. Performances begin tonight, May 1 and continue through Saturday, May 17. Opening Night is Saturday, May 3 (8 p.m.).

The Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) announced today that Artistic Director Tom Wojtunik will be stepping down from his position as Artistic Director on June 30th, 2014. During Wojtunik's six years as Artistic Director, he successfully raised the company's artistic profile and solidified APAC's place as a respected developer and producer of new works. For his final production, he will direct Rodgers & Hammerstein's rarely seen Allegro, opening May 1st, 2014. (Critics are invited to all performances.)

The Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) announced today, that as of April 14, 2014, Erin Moore will be the new Executive Director, replacing Taryn Sacramone, who resigned last June. This is the culmination of a nearly year-long search for that candidate whose love for the performing arts is matched only by her commitment to further the cultural vibrancy of Queens. Moore's first production as Executive Director will be Rodgers & Hammerstein's Allegro, directed by APAC's Artistic Director Tom Wojtunik, opening May 1st, 2014.

Broadway Gives Back and Seaview Productions presented the 'Second Annual Broadway Charity Songs' benefit concert on February 24, 2014. 'Broadway Charity Songs' has paired a group of award-winning musical theatre composers with a group outstanding charities and tasked them with composing an original song inspired by the work of that charity. The result is a group of songs gifted to the charities - with the hope that the songs 'go viral' -- increasing awareness for these outstanding organizations. The result is a group of songs gifted to the charities - with the hope that the songs "go viral" -- increasing awareness for these outstanding organizations.

The Cabaret Showdown is a monthly game show that offers a unique mixture of live karaoke and Jeopardy. Contestants are asked to sing selections from various musical categories listed on the Official Game Board with no knowledge of what the song will be until right before they sing. To level the playing field all songs are popular standards, each contestant is given a copy of the sheet music and accompanied by a live pianist. The winner receives a free booking at UNDER St. Marks for their very own showcase. Whether you are a contestant or in the audience you are guaranteed to have a blast!

The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, has announced that the 2013 Honorary Award applications are now available online at www.nyitawards.com.
