The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, is pleased to announce that the 2011 Honorary Award applications are now available online at www.nyitawards.com.

Astoria Performing Arts Center's Annual Gala Set for 3/14

Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC) will host its annual Gala at the Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35th Avenue, Astoria NY, on Thursday, March 14, 2013. For their extraordinary service to the community and their support of the arts, APAC will be honoring Assembly Member Aravella Simotas and Donna Finn, Principal of the Frank Sinatra School for the Performing Arts. The evening will include a cocktail reception catered by The Astor Room, an opportunity to explore the museum, and a special performance directed by APAC Artistic Director Tom Wojtunik. Tickets are currently on sale at apacny.org. APAC's next show, the musical Blood Brothers, with book, music, and lyrics by Willy Russell, directed by Tom Wojtunik will open at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church on May 2, 2013.

Unfiltered 2012, the Ensemble Studio Theatre/Youngblood's under-30, 2012 Obie Award-winning playwright incubator that has produced talents such as Annie Baker, Amy Herzog, Jon Kern, Lucy Alibar, and Robert Askins, has new dates. Unfiltered 2012 opens tonight, November 16, at 7:00pm and now runs through January 11 at Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST), 549 West 52nd Street. (Original dates were November 9 through December 7.)

Moss's (punkplay, House of Gold) BILLY WITCH, choreographed by Wendy Seyb (The Pee Wee Herman Show, Yeast Nation), with original music by Nathan A. Roberts, musical direction by Brenna Sage and directed by Erik Pearson (Billy Witch, Studio 42). BILLY WITCH will play a limited engagement at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (30-44 Crescent St, Astoria, NY. Entrance on 30th Road.) Performances begin tonight, November 1 and continue through Saturday, November 17. Opening Night is Saturday, November 3 (8 p.m.).

The Astoria Performing Arts Center (APAC), recipient of the 2012 Caffe Cino Fellowship Award from the Innovative Theatre Foundation, has announced their additional IT Award Nominations and their 12th Season featuring the New York Premiere of Gregory S. Moss's (punkplay, House of Gold) Billy Witch and Willy Russell's (Educating Rita, Shirley Valentine) Blood Brothers. APAC is also fortunate to be working on a developmental piece with Grammy and Tony-award winning composer Galt MacDermot (Hair), Gone Tomoro. APAC's performance venue is located at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 30-44 Crescent St (@30th Rd) in Astoria, Queens.
