The CASA Award, a new playwriting award for women in South Africa, was announced at Playwrights Guild of Canada's Tom Hendry Awards this past Sunday at the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto.
Last night, the winners of the Carol Bolt Award, RBC Emerging Playwright Award, Stage West Comedy and Musical Awards, Robert Beardsley Award, and PGC's Lifetime Membership Award were announced at the Tom Hendry Awards ceremony at The Arts and Letters Club of Toronto.

The hit comedy was created by Winnipegger Barbara Gehring (formerly Melnyk) and Colorado native Linda Klein, both of whom will star in the Winnipeg production. GIRLS ONLY will play at the Tom Hendry Theatre at the Manitoba Theatre Centre Warehouse through April 3, 2010. The Denver production of the show will continue to play its regular schedule at Denver's Garner Galleria Theatre.

At the Annual General Meeting held this evening in the Mainstage lobby, Gerry Couture, Chair of the MTC Board of Trustees, announced that the Manitoba Theatre Centre was able to positively exceed its 2008-09 budget by $82,307.
