By:

Manitoba Theatre Centre is excited to continue the 2009-10 Tom Hendry Theatre season with the Tarragon Theatre production of E AST OF B ERLIN , by up-and-coming Canadian playwright Hannah Moscovitch.

Dedicated to creating, developing and producing new Canadian work, Tarragon Theatre is responsible for last season's searing hit S CORCHED at the Tom Hendry Theatre, and is sure to deliver once again with the critically acclaimed, Dora Mavor MooreAward-winning EAST OF BERLIN .

Can a son atone for his father's sins? Rudi has grown up in Paraguay, blissfully ignorant of his father's past. When a friend reveals the awful truth, Rudi flees his family and attempts to invent a new life. As he struggles to atone for his father's appalling acts, the past catches up with him.

EAST OF BERLIN tells the stirring and compelling story of a young man steeling himself for a fateful encounter with his estranged father. EAST OF BERLIN stars Diana Donnelly, Paul Dunn and Brendan Gall. The Creative Team is led by Director Alisa Palmer and features Set and Costume Designer Camellia Koo, Lighting Designer Michael Walton, Associate Lighting Designer Gavin McDonald, Sound Designer John Gzowski, Tarragon Resident Director Rose Plotek and Stage Manager Leigh McClymont.
