This summer, Theater at Monmouth celebrates wily, wicked, and wonderful women through classic literature's most fantastic females. From fierce matriarchs, unfaithful wives, and every Madonna in-between, Roar! The Year of the Woman spotlights the ladies who move mountains for their families, friends, and most importantly, themselves. Taking on tyrants, freeloaders, and faithless frauds these femme fatales fight for what they believe in, charting a course to a better world for their sisters and daughters.

Playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker explores the contradictions between our founding fathers' ideals and the realities of freedom in America. Christian, a Quaker pacifist, defies his family to fight in the American Revolution. Susannah, an enslaved woman, is tempted to fight for the British when they promise her liberty. On their travels, Christian and Susannah cross paths with Thomas Jefferson, George Mason and Sally Hemings.

Ford's Theatre Society announced casting for playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker's sweeping new drama, Jefferson's Garden, playing from January 19 to February 11, 2018. The production features Christopher Dinolfo as Christian and Felicia Curry as Susannah, with Christopher Bloch, Michael Kevin Darnall, Kimberly Gilbert, Michael Halling, Thomas Keegan, Kathryn Tkel and Maggie Wilder. The play is directed by Nataki Garrett (Woolly Mammoth's An Octoroon), associate artistic director of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts Theatre Company.

In 2018, Nottingham Playhouse will become the lead producing partner for the acclaimed Ramps on The Moon co-production of Our Country's Good by Timberlake Wertenbaker. Following their critically praised staging of Nikolai Gogol's The Government Inspector and the award winning recent production of The Who's Tommy, this is the third co-production with Ramps on The Moon, a consortium of seven theatre companies dedicated to putting D/deaf and disabled artists and audiences at the centre of their work.
