Tobacco Factory Theatres has announced the programme for its Dec 18 - May 19 season. The new season is packed full of theatrical delights, including the second Factory Company season, featuring a brand new resident professional ensemble, and a co-commissioned piece made in Bristol and developed during an artist residency at Tobacco Factory Theatres.

Set in Hollywood 1950, this witty comedy-drama reveals what goes on behind closed doors when a world-famous writer, his actress wife and his longtime 'secretary' arrive from England, only to have their comfortable household disrupted by the arrival of a handsome young priest and a film producer with a secret of his own.

NOTE: There is no performance on Thanksgiving (Nov. 22), but there is an added matinee performance on Friday, Nov. 23 at 2:30 pm. Press opening performance will be on Sunday, November 19 at 2:30 pm.

Thirty years after its professional premiere at the Royal Court in London, the Bridewell Theatre hosts the amateur London premiere of Our Country's Good from 23-27 October, staged by Sedos, the City of London's leading amateur theatre company.

New York Stage and Film announced today that Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer will be stepping down from her longtime leadership position with the organization to become the new Artistic Director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre beginning September 1, 2019.

Artistic Director of Watford Palace Theatre, Brigid Larmour, today announces the Autumn Season with the centrepiece being the theatre's first produced Shakespeare in 10 years - Much Ado About Nothing with an all-female cast. Directed by Larmour, the production opens on 9 October with previews from 4 October and running until 27 October.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its west coast premiere production of QUEENS, by Martyna Majok. Directed by Carey Perloff, the show runs July 3 - 29. Recipients of the second annual Tonic Awards were announced tonight at an awards ceremony held at the May Fair Theatre hosted by Dame Jenni Murray. The awards celebrate the achievements of game-changing women in theatre and the performing arts, and significant organisations, projects and productions that redefine the role of women in the performing arts, both on and off stage. The recipients honoured in this evenings event were: Emma de Souza, Clean Break theatre company, Walking the Feminists, The Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester, Steffi Holtz and Gina Abolins, Kully Thiarai, Lyn Gardner, Caryl Churchill and Katie Mitchell.
