2020 Monterey Jazz Festival Postponed Until September 24-26

The Monterey Jazz Festival announced today the postponement of the 2020 festival until September 24-26, 2021. The postponement, the first in the Monterey Jazz Festival's 62-year history, comes after careful consideration of the realities of COVID-19's impact on the health and safety of the festival's audience, artists, volunteers, and students.

Casting Announced For THE SEASON

Royal & Derngate, Northampton, and New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich, have announced Tori Allen-Martin and Alex Cardall as the cast for their co-production of the new musical, The Season, by 2018 MTI Stiles + Drewe Mentorship Award winners, Jim Barne and Kit Buchan, playing in Northampton and Ipswich in November. The production will be directed by Tim Jackson and designed by Amy Jane Cook.

Monterey Jazz Festival to Receive $35,000 Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $25 million in grants as part of the NEA's first major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $35,000 to the Monterey Jazz Festival in support of the Monterey Jazz Festival's 2018 Commission Piece, to be composed and performed by Oscar Hernandez and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra.

UK Tour of DUSTY to Hold Open Casting Call

The UK tour of DUSTY will hold an open casting call for male and female dance ensemble members. Dusty is written by Jonathan Harvey, directed by Maria Friedman, designed by Tom Pye, and choreographed by Tim Jackson.
