These two are non-stop! Tonight, Brian D'Arcy James and James Monroe Iglehart join the Broadway cast of Hamilton. Iglehart will be playing the dual roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson while James will be re-joining the show as King George.

It has been announced that Tony Award winner James Monroe Iglehart will join the Broadway cast of Hamilton in the dual roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson starting April 14th, Broadway favorite, Brian D'Arcy James, is set to re-join the show on the same day in the role of King George, a role he created in the Public Theater production of the show. 

Lantern Theater Company will host Rite of Spring on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 6 p.m., a festive evening to celebrate the company's record-breaking 2016/17 season and to present the 2017 Luminary Award to the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, O.S.A, PhD, in recognition of his significant contributions to the performing arts in Philadelphia.

Join the West Valley Chorale April 7, for a musical tribute to great American composers. Led by Artistic Director Ken Goodenberger, a long-time Theater Works musical director and performer, the 70-voice Chorale will perform a concert of outstanding American music, exploring the genres of Folk, Classical, Spiritual, Sacred and Broadway Music. Leonard Bernstein, George Cohen, Randall Thompson, Eric Whitacre and Moses Hogan are some of the featured iconic composers. Virginia Repertory announces the opening of Disney's Beauty and the Beast on Friday April 21, 2017 at the November Theatre, 114 West Broad Street. The show will run through May 14, 2017.

James Monroe Iglehart, the iconic originator of The Genie in ALADDIN, recently stepped down from the role that earned him a Tony in 2014. The actor will soon be joining the Broadway cast of HAMILTON as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson. It seems, however, that Iglehart was feeling a little nostalgic as he announced on Twitter that he's on stage this weekend as Genie. Time to get some last minute tickets!

Independent Shakespeare Co. (ISC), presenters of the Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival announce the west coast premiere of  THE SNOW GEESE by Sharr White (The Other Place), directed by Independent Shakespeare Co.'s Managing Director David Melville.  THE SNOW GEESE will begin previews on Saturday, March 11, will open on Friday, March 17 at 7:30pm and performs through Sunday, April 9 at Independent Studio in the Atwater Crossing Arts + Innovation Complex, 3191 Casitas Ave., #168 in Atwater Village.

Gregory Harrison stars as Thomas Jefferson in a gripping, powerful and timely play - the American premiere of Jefferson's Garden - by internationally acclaimed playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker (Our Country's Good) that brings a fresh slant and theatrical inventiveness to the story of the American Revolution.

Twelve very talented students will be honored at THE THEATER PROJECT'S fifteenth annual Young Playwrights Competition Performance and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, March 18, at the Cranford Community Center. These young writers represent ten different high schools and eight different towns. The three prize winners will see their work performed by the professional actors of The Theater Project; honorable mentions will be to be presented with citations and gift certificates.
