New Repertory Theatre Announces Updates To 2018-2019 Season

Featuring seven productions, New Rep's 2018-2019 season includes Straight White Men, a searing satirical comedy and New England Premiere; We Will Not Be Silent, a compelling historical drama and New England Premiere; 1776, a spirited musical revival; Heartland, an evocative existential drama and a National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere; Still Standing, an inspirational one-woman musical; and Cardboard Piano, an engaging socio-political drama and New England Premiere. Becoming Dr. Ruth will replace Vieux Carre as the final production during the season, a compelling one-woman show about the world's most famous sex therapist, Dr. Ruth Westheimer.

After its acclaimed Broadway, touring and international productions, The Muny will be the first theatre in the world to create its own production of Jersey Boys. The Muny announced today the iconic leading quartet will star Emmy-nominated Mark Ballas as Frankie Valli, Bobby Conte Thornton as Bob Gaudio, Nicolas Dromard as Tommy DeVito and Keith Hines as Nick Massi. The fourth production in the theatre's centennial season, Jersey Boysruns July 9 - 16. Jersey Boys is directed and choreographed by Josh Rhodes with music direction by Rick Bertone. Jersey Boys is proudly sponsored by BMO Harris Bank.
Walnut Annual Gala Raises Money For Education Programs

Walnut Street Theatre is pleased to announce that it will honor Walnut Street Theatre Trustee Ronald Bowlan with the 2018 Edwin Forrest Award at the theatre's annual Gala. The evening's events will begin with a 90-minute concert filled with Philadelphia's most cherished stars singing America's musical favorites and patriotic numbers. Performers include: Schyler Conaway, Christopher DeProphetis, Jennie Eisenhower, Melissa Joy Hart, Jessica Johnson, Jesse Jones, Mary Martello, Kathryn Miller, Cary Michele Miller, Ellie Mooney, Nichalas L. Parker, Lyn Philistine, Chris Sutton, and Julia Udine. Fran Prisco will take the stage as emcee for the evening.

Hudson, Executive Director; Casey Childs, Founder) is proud to announce its complete 2018/19 Season, which will kick off in Fall 2018 with FINAL FOLLIES, by A.R. Gurney (Love Letters, Sylvia, Black Tie at Primary Stages) and directed by David Saint (Clever Little Lies). DOWNSTAIRS by Theresa Rebeck ("Smash," Dead Accounts, Poor Behavior at Primary Stages), directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (What We're Up Against) in November 2018 will star Tyne Daly (Mother & Sons, Master Class) and Tim Daly ("Wings," "Madam Secretary") sharing the New York stage for the first time. Early 2019 will bring GOD SAID THIS by Leah Nanako Winkler (Two Mile Hollow), directed by Morgan Gould (Kentucky); and the season will conclude in Spring 2019 with LITTLE WOMEN, written by Kate Hamill (Pride and Prejudice), based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, and directed by Sarna Lapine (Sunday in the Park with George). Performance schedules, additional casting, and full creative teams will be announced at a later date.

The Verdi Chorus celebrates its 35th anniversary with its Spring 2018 concert The Force of Destiny for two performances only at the First United Methodist Church in Santa Monica on April 28 and 29 led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum. As the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus, their program will feature selections from three Verdi operas - La forza del destino, Nabucco, including the famed chorus "Va, pensiero," the opening party scene of La traviata, and conclude with beloved melodies from Strauss' Die Fledermaus.
