The Theatre Company at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) is proud to announce playwrights, dates and details for the 2019 Colorado New Play Summit. The 14th annual festival will take place over two weekends, 2/16-2/17 and 2/22-2/24, and feature readings of new plays by Beaufield Berry, Isaac Gomez, Bonnie Metzgar, Tony Meneses, and a new musical by Neyla Pekarek and Karen Hartman. The festival will also feature World Premiere productions by Donnetta Lavinia Grays and Itamar Moses.

Animus continues its fourth full theatrical season with the New York Revival of Someone Who'll Watch Over Me by Frank McGuinness.

This week the Berkshire Theatre Critics Association is voting on the final award list in preparation for the Third Annual Berkshire Theatre Awards. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony to be held on Monday, November 12 at 7 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church, 74 First Street (Route 7) in Pittsfield, MA.

Queens-based Rude Grooms will mount a limited Halloween engagement of the rarely seen 1621 play The Witch of Edmonton in partnership with The Astorian and Long Island City Artists. The play was written by William Rowley, Thomas Dekker, and John Ford and will be led by actor-manager Kate Pitt (The Way of the World at the Folger Theatre, Rude Grooms' Much Ado About Nothing) and associate produced by Emma Montoya Hills (Associate General Manager, HERE Arts Center). The production will play the Plaxall Gallery on October 28th at 7:30pm and The Astorian on Halloween, October 31, at 7:30pm. Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made at rudegrooms.com.

Animus Theatre Company (Jonathan Judge-Russo, Founding Artistic Director), an ensemble of young, dynamic artists exploring the resilience of the human spirit through new and under-represented works, continues their fourth full season with Frank McGuinness' gripping drama about ideologies held hostage, Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, directed by the acclaimed theatre professional, Alan Langdon.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has just announced a one-week extension of the Roundabout-commissioned play Bernhardt/Hamlet by Pulitzer finalist Theresa Rebeck, directed by Tony nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel, now through November 18, 2018.

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valley-based award-winning Actors' Equity professional theater company, will open its Tenth Anniversary season with a production of "The Understudy" by Theresa Rebeck, who created the hit television series "SMASH." The show, a hilarious comedy about life in the theater, will star Alex Best, Robin McAlpine, and David Youse and run for nine performances from November 2 - 11, 2018. "The Understudy" is a hilarious exploration of the existential vagaries of show business and life.

Origin Theatre Company, the city's only theatre company devoted to presenting the American premieres of new works by Europe's brightest contemporary playwrights, presents the world premiere of the acclaimed Italian-born playwright Marco Calvani's new play "Beautiful Day Without You," beginning Thursday November 1. Directed by Erwin Maas, "Beautiful Day Without You" features a cast of three that includes Dan Butler ("Bulldog" on TV's Frasier and last season's "Travesties" on Broadway), Richarda Abrams and Anne Son.

Greater Boston Stage Company proudly announces the second Don Fulton New Play Project, The Salonnieres. By acclaimed playwright, Liz Duffy Adams, The Salonnieres, set in pre-Revolutionary Paris, is an evening filled with fairytales, facades, and the feminist revolution. Directed by Producing Artistic Director Weylin Symes, performances run October 25 - November 11, 2018. The Press Opening is Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 3:00pm.

Playwright Theresa Rebeck, who is currently represented on Broadway with Bernhardt/Hamlet, will make an appearance tomorrow, October 2 (5-6:30pm), at the Drama Book Shop (250 W 40th St). The festivities will include a discussion about her career and current projects, followed by a signing. 

Cleveland Play House (CPH) brings to life Lynn Nottage's complex story of the Pulitzer Prize-winning Rust Belt drama Sweat.  Set in Reading, PA, this relevant story offers audience members suspense through its intricate portrayal of characters battling to survive in a city crippled by economic stagnation. CPH Artistic Director Laura Kepley will direct. Previews begin on October 13th, with press opening on October 19th at the Outcalt Theatre in Playhouse Square. This production is sponsored by Great Lakes Brewing Company.

Death and Cockroaches, a brand new theatrical experience presented by Chalk Repertory Theatre, opens November 9 for four weeks at Atwater Village Theatre. Written by Chalk Rep Artistic Circle member Eric Reyes Loo and directed by Chalk Rep Founding Member Jennifer Chang, in an innovative, immersive production featuring a full sensory experience.
