Tony-winning director-choreographer Casey Nicholaw is featured in this monthly episode of 'THEATER: All the Moving Parts', hosted by veteran journalist, Patrick Pacheco. Nicholaw has the remarkable distinction of having four shows running concurrently on Broadway: 'Book of Mormon,' 'Aladdin,' 'Mean Girls,' and "The Prom." Included among his many future projects is "Some Like It Hot."   

Goodman Theatre announces the casting and creative teams for its 2019/2020 "Theater That Moves" Season openers. The season kicks-off September 6 in the Owen Theatre with the world premiere of Lucas Hnath's Dana H., adapted from interviews with Dana Higginbotham conducted by Steve Cosson and directed by Les Waters.

After a successful run in New York City's historic Cutting Room, 3 EGG CREAMS: A Rhapsody in the Rain returns to New Jersey on Sunday, August 11 at 2 pm & 6 pm Dante Hall Theatre at Stockton University in Atlantic City, NJ and then on September 14 at 7 pm 3 Egg creams will play the Strand Theatre, Lakewood, NJ.

Brooklyn-based theatre company Colt Coeur will present the east coast premiere of Jonathan Spector's screamingly funny yet profound EUREKA DAY. Spector's lauded play uses a heated vaccination debate at a progressive elementary school as a metaphorical lens for the escalating hostility of America's culture wars and our inability to listen to those with whom we disagree. This timely comedy is directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (Primary Stages' Downstairs, Colt Coeur's Joan). Previews begin Saturday, August 24th with official opening set for Thursday, August 29th. Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis and Producing Director Will Rucker, will open DIG, the first World Premiere production of the 42nd Season, on July 11. The play is written and directed by the Festival's Resident Playwright, Theresa Rebeck.

The North Fork TV Festival announced the final seven independent pilots in the competition to be screened at this year's festival. Of these seven, the festival's esteemed judges will select four to screen at the Greenport Theatre in Greenport, NY, on October 4–5, 2019.

Word for Word and Z Space will stage an immersive production of Samuel Taylor Coleridge's legendary Rime of the Ancient Mariner  with a press night of Saturday September 21 at 8pm running through October 12 (Previews Sept 11-15, 18-20) .   Rime of the Ancient Mariner is to be directed by Jim Cave and Delia MacDougall with a cast that features Nathaniel Andalis, Lucas Brandt, Robert Ernst*, Darryl V. Lovers of new theatre will gather this August for an advance look at tomorrow's hits at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley's 2019 New Works Festival at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. This unique festival offers audiences an extraordinary opportunity to experience new plays and musicals in their early stages of development, and hear about the creative process in a "Meet the Artists" panel discussion. Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, announces the recipients of the first round of the 2019 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards. The awards, totaling $509,000, allow 13 productions extra time for the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, hoping to extend the life of the world premiere play after its first run.

Outpost Repertory Theatre (Outpost Rep), Lubbock's new professional theatre company, continues its inaugural season with the hilarious and touching comedy Tigers Be Still by Kim Rosenstock.

Dropped calls are the worst--unless you're Luke Wilson, and then dropped gumballs cause a bigger headache. Dropping Gumballs on Luke Wilson ricochets plenty of candy and themes, but in its 75 minutes, this thin workplace-humor production doesn't give us enough to chew on.

The Orchard Project is thrilled to launch its second annual EPISODIC LAB.
