Queens Theatre has released the following statement regarding upcoming performances:

New York City venue, The Shed, will suspend all performances through March 30.

Help, a new play examining white male privilege by acclaimed author and poet Claudia Rankine (Citizen: An American Lyric, The White Card) and directed by Obie Award-winner Taibi Magar (Is God Is, Soho Rep), will make its world premiere and launch The Shed's 2020 season on March 10 with performances through April 5 (previews begin Tuesday, March 10 and opening night is Saturday, March 21). Commissioned by The Shed and performed in its Griffin Theater, Help stars Roslyn Ruff (Theater: Fairview; Film: Marriage Story; TV: Divorce, Pose).

Blackberry Smoke will kick off their extensive “Spirit Of The South Tour: A Celebration of Southern Rock and Roll” this summer with special guests The Allman Betts Band, The Wild Feathers and founding member of The Allman Brothers Band, Jaimoe. Newly confirmed stops include Asbury Park's Stone Pony Summer Stage, Boston's Rockland Trust Bank Pavilion, New York's The Rooftop at Pier 17, Detroit's Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at FreedomHill, Irving's Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory, Atlanta's Fox Theatre and Nashville's Ascend Amphitheatre among several others. Tickets for the shows go on-sale this Friday, March 6 at 10:00am local time. See below for complete details. 

Musical Theatre Factory has announced complete casting for TROY ANTHONY AND FRIENDS, a one night only evening of celebration, affirmation and liberation in concert on Sunday March 1, 2020, at 7pm. Featuring the work of Troy Anthony (The River is Me, Dark Girl Chronicles, Antioch Mass) in his Joe's Pub debut sung by a 12 piece all POC choir and additional guest performers, alongside the work of collaborators Sukari Jones and Nia Witherspoon, Troy will also be joined be special guest artists representing the Musical Theatre Factory POC Roundtable - Rona Siddiqui, Michelle J. Rodriguez, Jerome Ellis, and Kirya Traber & Sissi Liu - in a powerful evening of song!

The National Theatre have today announced director Grace Gummer as the first recipient of the NT Women of Tomorrow Directors Award, as part of a partnership with the CHANEL Fund for Women ina??thea??Arts and Culture and inaugural venue partner The Yard Theatre. Grace was selected from over 160 applicants by the panel which included representatives from the NT and The Yard.

Rehearsals have begun at Leeds Playhouse for Frances Poet's heart-warming new play, Maggie May. The cast and crew spend 2 weeks in rehearsals in Leeds before transferring down to Queen's Theatre Hornchurch, where the show opens on 13 March.

American soprano Renée Fleming, one of the most beloved and celebrated singers of our time, is donating her personal archives to Juilliard, her alma mater. The announcement was made by Juilliard President Damian Woetzel at the beginning of Fleming's Vocal Arts master class, held on February 19 in Juilliard's Paul Hall. The master class featured singers from Juilliard's Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts and was part of her February residency at the school.

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announces programming for the 2020a?"2021 season. The season opens with a world premiere as part of a three-ballet program of William Forsythe's works. Nissinen's The Nutcracker returns to capture the imagination of audiences of all ages. The spring season includes a second world premiere by William Forsythe, Alexei Ratmansky's Symphony No. 9, and George Balanchine's Ballo della Regina, plus the Company premiere of Christopher Wheeldon's A Midsummer Night's Dream and the return of Marius Petipa's The Sleeping Beauty. The season concludes with a female-led program, part of Boston Ballet's ChoreograpHER Initiative. The Company's 57th season runs November 5, 2020 through May 30, 2021 at the Citizens Bank Opera House.
