Featuring a powerful score by legendary duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, and based on Lynn Riggs' 1931 play, Green Grow the Lilacs, Oklahoma! will be directed by Artistic Director and Jeff Award-winner Aaron Thielen (She Loves Me, Spring Awakening). Jeff Award nominee Alex Sanchez (Marriott Theatre: Newsies, Evita, On the Town, Mary Poppins) will choreograph, with Musical Direction and orchestrations by Jeff Award winner Ryan T. Nelson.

Maestro LUKE FRAZIER and THE AMERICAN POPS ORCHESTRA - Washington, DC's innovative hometown orchestra - will conclude their star-studded third season with Let's Misbehave: Cole Porter After Dark at the Orchestra's new home, Arena Stage at The Mead Center for American Theater (1101 Sixth Street SW) on Saturday, May 19 at 8:00 PM. Let's Misbehave will feature guest stars Betty Who (the pop star making her orchestra debut), Liz Callaway (Tony Award nominee, voice of Disney's Princess Jasmine and Anastasia), Ali Ewoldt ((Phantom of the Opera on Broadway), Helen Hayes Awards Winner), Vishal Vaidya (Groundhog Day on Broadway), and Mo Rocca ('CBS Sunday Morning,' NPR's 'Wait Wait…Don't Tell Me!'). Bay Area Cabaret is delighted to present An Evening with Liz Callaway. Having appeared with Bay Area Cabaret in concert with her sister, Ann Hampton Callaway, and in a tribute to composer Stephen Schwartz, Liz Callaway-the Tony-nominated Broadway star of Miss Saigon, Baby, Merrily We Roll Along and Cats, and voice of the animated classic, Anastasia-makes her solo Venetian Room debut.

Variety reports that actress Heather Menzies-Urich, known for portraying Louisa von Trapp in the 1965 film The Sound of Music, died at age 68 following a recent diagnosis with cancer. Her son Ryan Urich said that his mother died on Christmas Eve, surrounded by her family.

General ticket sales are underway for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's (OSF) 83rd season, which begins with the first preview on Feb. 16 and continues through Oct. 28. The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, will honor legendary musical theatre writing team Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones.

One classic play, a rock musical, a new comedy fresh from off-Broadway, and a classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical will round out the 64th season at Texas Wesleyan University's Department of Theatre.
