Marissa Wolf, Associate Artistic Director and Director of New Works at Kansas City Repertory Theatre (KCRep), today announced the full schedule for the organization's popular 2018/2019 Monday Night Playwright Series. The series features a line-up of new and returning playwrights including Christina Anderson, Bennett Fisher, Greta Oglesby, Andrew Rosendorf, Bianca Leigh and Mellon Foundation Playwright in Residence Nathan Louis Jackson, in addition to the Playwright Slam, hosted by Nathan Louis Jackson. These free public events take place on the UMKC campus at the Spencer Theatre Donor Lounge. 

According to the New York Times, Tony winner Nikki M. James and Derk Alexander Oosterman tied the knot over the weekend in Amsterdam.

Ted Austin, Chair of the Board of Directors at Portland Center Stage at The Armory in Portland, Oregon, announced today that Marissa Wolf has been selected as the next Artistic Director at Portland Center Stage at The Armory, after an eight-month, nationwide search. Wolf, who is currently the Associate Artistic Director/Director of New Works at Kansas City Repertory Theatre, previously served as the Artistic Director at San Francisco's innovative Crowded Fire Theater. Wolf will join Managing Director Cynthia Fuhrman as co-leader of Portland Center Stage and begins her role full-time on September 15, 2018.

The OBIE Award-winning NAATCO, National Asian American Theatre Company, kicks off their 28th season with Stephen Brown-Fried's new adaptation of Shakespeare's Henry VI. This Off-Broadway limited engagement at the Mezzanine Theatre at A.R.T./New York Theaters (502 West 53rd Street at Tenth Avenue) opens Tuesday August 21st (Part 1) and Wednesday August 22nd (Part 2).  Performances continue through September 8th only.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the appointment of Eric Keen-Louie as Producing Director. Keen-Louie will take over the reins producing the Playhouse's subscription season from Associate Artistic Director Jaime Castañeda, who will be departing the Playhouse next month to pursue freelance directing projects for theatre and television in Los Angeles.

The Playwrights Realm (Katherine Kovner, Founding Artistic Director; Roberta Pereira, Producing Director) today announces the complete cast and creative team for the world premiere of Jonathan Payne's The Revolving Cycles Truly and Steadily Roll'd, directed by Awoye Timpo (Sept. 7-Oct. 6, at The Duke on 42nd Street, a New 42nd Street project).  This world premiere marks the first full production from the mordantly funny and unsparing voice of Jonathan Payne.

Playwright Daniel McCoy's new plays, Perfect Teeth and Dick Pix are set to run in rotation at Theaterlab in mid-town Manhattan, July 18 - August 12. Opening night is slated for Sunday July 22.

San Francisco Playhouse kicks off its 2018/19 Mainstage series-the theater's 16th season presenting diverse and dynamic works-with Christopher Chen's You Mean to Do Me Harm, which was originally commissioned by the Playhouse and premiered in its Sandbox Series last season. Playwright Daniel McCoy's new comedy Dick Pix is currently running at Theaterlab in mid-town Manhattan. Dick Pix is directed by Heidi Handelsman and runs through August 11. The production is running in rotation with McCoy's drama, Perfect Teeth.

The BLUEBARN Theatre, founded in 1989 by graduates of the SUNY Purchase Acting Conservatory, proudly announces a creative partnership with STRANGEMEN THEATRE COMPANY, a New York-based non-profit, originally founded in 2010 by graduates of that same conservatory. The Wild Project hosts the World Premiere of HOPE, written and performed by Hope Salas. Directed by Erika Latta, previews begin September 22 at The Wild Project with opening night slated for Wednesday, September 26.

Shakespeare wrote more lines for Queen Margaret than he did for King Lear yet we know very little of her.
