Artpark announces a casting change for the upcoming production of THE ODYSSEY. Accomplished Broadway actress Courtney Balan will replace Emily Skinner in the role of Penelope / Circe due to a family emergency.

Bill T. Jones, MacArthur Genius Award and National Medal of Arts awardee and Artistic Director of New York Live Arts, and Janet Wong, Associate Artistic Director, announced the New York Live Arts' 2018-2019 season today. "We look to artists to reflect, reframe, reimagine, and represent the world to us. We hope that in turn we respond with empathy and, dare we say, compassion," states Bill T. Jones. "New York Live Arts will premiere eight New York and/or world premieres this season including the much anticipated "Y" by Randjelovi?/Stryker Resident Commissioned Artist RoseAnne Spradlin," says Janet Wong. "We will also bring back Jack Ferver's highly successful 'Everything Is Imaginable,' which premiered at New York Live Arts' this past season. For the 2019 edition of the Live Ideas Festival we will look at artificial intelligence and our role in shaping the future," she adds.

With a Machete Productions, in association with Haven Theatre, is thrilled to present The Church of Modern Love, a new rock musical experience, with music, lyrics and book by Davyd Reddyk and Ethan Krupp. This workshop-run will play at the Den Theatre - Bookspan Theatre from July 17th - 28th. The Church of Modern Love will be directed and choreographed by Jon Martinez (Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, The View Upstairs).

Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that rehearsals have begun for EVITA, a revival of the revolutionary musical with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber; directed by Will Pomerantz; and choreographed by Marcos Santana. Award-winning actor Diane Lane has signed on to star in the drama series pilot Y, headlining an ensemble cast also starring Barry Keoghan, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield and Marin Ireland, it was announced today by Eric Schrier and Nick Grad, Presidents of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Productions.

MAMMA MIA!, the hit musical featuring the music of ABBA, is grooving its way to the Public Theatre of San Antonio from July 6 to August 5.

When Stephen Sondheim was asked was asked about whether his great musical drama SWEENEY TODD was a musical or an opera, he once responded, “When it's done in a theatre, it's a musical. When it's done in an opera house, it's an opera.” Well, then, what about HAMILTON, the musical sensation of our time? Is it possible that it's (gasp!) an opera waiting to emerge?

Waiting in line under the sun in hopes of landing a theatre ticket is no one's idea of fun, but for over 60 years people have been doing just that as they lounge in Central Park hoping to see performers like Anne Hathaway, Audra McDonald or Meryl Streep in one of the Public Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park productions. This year, they've recently closed Othello, directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, and a musical version of Twelfth Night with music and lyrics by Shaina Taub will play the Delacorte from July 17 to August 19.

Conrad Ricamora is best-known to millions of TV viewers as Oliver, the cute computer whiz, on ABC's 'How to Get Away With Murder.' But this 2013 Theatre World Award winner also can slay an audience onstage as he has proven Off-Broadway in 'Here Lies Love' and on Broadway in 'The King and I.' And Ricamora is currently 'killing it' as the star of 'Soft Power,' David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori's bold, new musical. Directed by Leigh Silverman, it is playing through July 8 at the Curran in San Francisco.

Penguin Rep Theatre, the award-winning professional Equity theatre under the leadership of founding artistic director Joe Brancato and executive director Andrew M. Horn, presents Clever Little Lies, a comedy by Joe DiPietro, the Tony Award-winning author of Memphis and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, June 29 through July 22 in Stony Point, New York.
