Bestselling Author Chris Bohjalian Will Host Post-Performance Talkbacks At MIDWIVES Next Week

New York Times bestselling author Chris Bohjalian's world premiere stage adaptation of his novel MIDWIVES is set to kick off 2020 in George Street Playhouse's new home at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. Performances begin January 21st, with the official Opening Night set for January 24th. The author will be hosting three very special post-performance talkbacks immediately following next week's previews on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Glimmers of hopefulness can be found in this unique theatrical event.  Disheartenment, however, permeates The Unknown Dancer in the Neighborhood.  This contemporary dance theater piece is a commentary on individual lives amidst the ambiguously indifferent and disconnected mobs in a gloomy metropolis.  Early on we hear that 'hopeless people talk about hopeless things.'

The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc. Will present A PHOTOGRAPH/LOVERS IN MOTION

In keeping with the mission and vision of The Negro Ensemble Company, Inc, the company will present 'a photograph / lovers in motion,' written by Ntozake Shange and adapted and directed by Ifa Bayeza, from February 5 to 29 at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 St. Marks Place. The play was first produced at The Public Theater as 'a photograph / a study in cruelty' in 1977 then revised and produced at the Houston Ensemble Theater in 1982 under its current title, 'a photograph / lovers in motion.' It was presented as a feature in NEC's annual reading series in 2015, Year of the Woman.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has announced the ninth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Benjamin Benne, Majkin Holmquist, Shayan Lotfi, Nick Mecikalski and Harrison David Rivers.

Single Tickets for HAMILTON at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts to go on Sale Monday, April 20

Producer Jeffrey Seller and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts announced today that single tickets for HAMILTON go on sale to the public Monday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m. MT at denvercenter.org. HAMILTON returns to The Buell Theatre August 12-October 4, 2020 as an added attraction to the 2019/20 season. Patrons with a 2019/20 DCPA subscription package will have priority access to purchase tickets from February 25 through March 8, based on availability.

HAMILTON's #HAM4HAM Lottery Comes to Grand Rapids

Producer Jeffrey Seller and Broadway Grand Rapids announce a digital lottery for HAMILTON tickets will begin in conjunction with the show's first performance (January 21) in Grand Rapids at DeVos Performance Hall. Forty (40) tickets will be sold for every performance for $10 each. The digital lottery will open at 11:00 AM on January 19 for tickets to the Tuesday, January 21 performance. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin two days prior to each performance.
