David Rockwell is designing a new Broadway-inspired hotel in New York's Theater District, set to open later in the fall. The Civilian hotel, from Sixty Collective hotelier Jason Pomeranc, has 27 stories and 203 rooms and will be filled with theatrical memorabilia.

The Bushwick Starr is partnering with HERE to present the world premiere of Preparedness, written by Hillary Miller (Gay Pierrot at Dixon Place, The Hovering at Capital Fringe), and directed by Kristjan Thor (BLACKOUT immersive experience throughout the U.S., The Penalty at The Public Theater and Dixon Place). 

There is a maximum purchase limit of 8 tickets per account for the engagement. When tickets go on sale, prices will range from $49 to $189 with a select number of premium seats available from $249 for all performances. There will be a lottery for 40 $10 seats for all performances. Details will be announced closer to the engagement.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat is presenting a reading of the new musical AGAINST WOMEN & MUSIC!, book and lyrics by Kate Douglas and music and lyrics by Lucille Lortel-winner Grace McLean. The reading is directed by Jaki Bradley, with music direction by Kris Kukul.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) is pleased to announce the publication of Mlima's Tale by Lynn Nottage. Mlima's Tale was originally developed and produced by The Public Theater in New York and had its world premiere in the spring of 2018. The play had its regional premiere at Westport Country Playhouse in Connecticut in the fall of 2019.

The Public Theater has just announced that it will delay its first preview of The Visitor by a week, to October 14.

Colin Bates will be joining the cast in the role of Gene Laine. Additionally, Alex Joseph Grayson, Housso Semon, Edward Staudenmayer, and Anastasia Talley will be joining the company as swings.

CRUSH, a VR puppet play by Krista Knight, is one of the winners of the inaugural Broadway on Demand Film Festival, a short film festival created to honor the groundbreaking ways creators approach theatre in a digital age and socially-distant world. The award-winning short film will be streamed on the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Emmy OTT platform this fall.
