Deadline reports that the Jim Henson Company will team up with Disney+ to produce a new puppet talk show.

Variety reports that Bret McKenzie, half of 'Flight of the Conchords,' will write the music and script for his upcoming adaptation of “Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas.'

 Beginning Tuesday, March 19, The Jim Henson Company's groundbreaking sci-fi series Farscape will be available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Nordics, and several other countries around the world on Amazon Prime Video.  All four seasons in HD (88 x 60'), plus the Emmy®-nominated mini-series finale – also newly remastered in HD - will be available. Deadline reports that Jim Henson's The Storyteller, a popular 80s anthology series, will make a comeback. Neil Gaiman (American Gods, Good Omens) has partnered with the Jim Henson Company and Fremantle to develop a reimagined 'Storyteller' for television.

Fresh off his Oscar win for “The Shape of Water,” Guillermo del Toro will make his animated feature film directing debut with 'Pinocchio,' according to Variety. Del Toro, who will write and produce the film as well, has received the green light from Netflix to film the stop motion musical version of the classic children's tale about a puppet who wants to be a real live boy.

Puppet-based production company, the Jim Henson Company has joined the Knights of Panterra, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Amazon Studios today announced it has signed an overall television deal with visionary and award-winning writer Neil Gaiman. The creator of the highly anticipated Amazon Original series Good Omens and the Hugo Award-winning book American Gods, Gaiman will exclusively work with Amazon Studios on the creation of television series which will premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video in over 200 countries and territories.

It is a fantastic time for fantasy novels. More and more are being picked up by studios for development thanks to the smashing success of Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and, most recently, Game of Thrones. The latest series to be picked up is Susan Dennard's Witchlands. The series begins with TRUTHWITCH, continues with WINDWITCH, and has a spin-off entitled SIGHTWITCH. The next book, entitled BLOODWITCH, comes out on February 12, 2019, with another two books still to be released.
