The Jim Henson Company Joins Fantasy Drama KNIGHTS OF PANTERRA

Puppet-based production company, the Jim Henson Company has joined the Knights of Panterra, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Canadian live-action series is based on Jeff Norton's Dino Knights children's books. Omnifilm Entertainment and The Jim Henson Company will jointly develop the series.

The family series is set in a fantasy world where dinosaurs never went extinct. As evil descends on the small town of Brim, four ill-equipped teens facing impossible odds combine their unique skills to become freedom fighters and save their kingdom from ruthless invaders.

Halle Stanford, president of television for The Jim Henson Company, said in a statement, "It's every kid's dream to have a dinosaur as a pet and Knights of Panterra realizes that dream with beautiful realism."

The Jim Henson Company was founded in 1955 by puppeteer Jim Henson as Muppets Inc. The company is behind the popular variety series The Muppet Show, which ran for five seasons.

Sam Ruano and Rachel Langer wrote the scripts and Zach Lipovsky is attached to direct.
