It was exactly a year ago that the newly formed professional non-profit Nicely Theatre Group (NTG) was slated to premiere its inaugural show with the musical Pippin. And we all know what happened last year to live theatre productions...

Goodwill Cultural Ambassador Ronald Rand, during his 20th year touring around the world to 25 countries will perform at the Theatre of Changes' 17th International Festival of Making Theater in his celebrated solo play, LET IT BE ART! as Harold Clurman, 'the Elder Statesman of the American Theatre,' on August 2nd at Theatre of Change, 19a Tritus Septemuriou Street in Athens, Greece.

Oscar Wilde's much-loved and enduring masterpiece, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST tells the story of two bachelor friends, dandy Algernon Moncrieff and reliable John (Jack) Worthing, as they take on double lives to court the attentions of the desirable Gwendolyn Fairfax and the romantic Cecily Cardew. But the gallants must then grapple with the uproarious consequences of their ruse...and with the formidable Lady Bracknell. The results are a world filled with chaos, mistaken identity, and laughter.

The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde will be presented by Berkshire Theatre Group from Sunday, June 20 to Saturday, July 10. Directed by David Auburn, the show will be presented at The Fitzpatrick Main Stage, Outside Under the Main Stage Tent. 

Playhouse Theatre Group, Inc. will launch the inaugural season of the Connecticut Shakespeare Festival at Auerfarm in Bloomfield, CT. It will run from July 7 - August 22, 2021. The inaugural season theme is “Shakespeare and Sondheim.”

The Wilbury Theatre Group announced that Milly Massey who was serving as the Board's Vice President, will be taking on the role of Board President. Board member Daniel Procaccini will fill Massey's position as Vice President. This follows former Board President Gene Spector's consecutive two terms as President.

The Wilbury Theatre Group presents the World Premiere of Dolores Goes to Poetry City by Darcie Dennigan, based on the poetry of Farnoosh Fathi. The performance runs June 10 – 20 outdoors at WaterFire Arts Center.

The Orpheum Theatre Group has announced that the upcoming Broadway season has been finalized. Broadway will return to Memphis in October with COME FROM AWAY, rescheduled from 2020. In November, the return of DISNEY'S THE LION KING will kick off the much-anticipated new season.

PUFFS, or: Seven Increasing Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic will be presented by PGT Virtual Stage. Potter fan? You don't know the stories until you've seen them through the eyes of the PUFFS!

There is something in this production of The Adventure of Little Red Riding Hood for everyone. The Campbell family has excellent comedic timing. The dialogue and song lyrics are hilarious, with jokes for all ages.

Longtime concert promoter and lifelong Pacific Northwest resident Eli Anderson has joined the programming department at Seattle Theatre Group and will be in charge of booking shows at the Neptune Theatre and designing a long term strategy for live streaming.

Theatre Communications Group has announced the 2021 TCG 60th Anniversary Gala: Our Stories will be held virtually on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 7:30pm ET with an afterparty to follow. The Gala will honor Ricardo Khan and the Performing Arts Alliance, and both the Gala and virtual live afterparty will be hosted by drag superstar Shequida. 

In tackling two of Strindberg’s one act plays in “Two by Strindberg: The Stronger and The Outcast”, Gamut Theatre brings to light the value in facing the worldviews that created those stories as well as the ways in which these stories can be interpreted in new ways.

Beginning April 21 and streaming through May 8, The Theatre Group at SBCC will perform Dashiell Hammett’s mystery, “The Thin Man,” as a live radio play based on the Lux Radio Theatre script from 1934, complete with sound effects and commercials.

The United States Postal Service joined the Center Theatre Group in front of the Mark Taper Forum to unveil the 44th Black Heritage Stamp honoring playwright August Wilson.

The Wilbury Theatre Group has announced the release of God Talks to An Agnostic – a twelve-part audio drama written, directed and featuring Don Mays. Episodes will premiere on Sundays at 3pm on The Public’s Radio WNPN 89.3FM, beginning March 21 and be available, next-day, on all podcast streaming platforms.
