Acclaimed singer/songwriter, guitarist and playwright Benjamin Scheuer is set to perform his award-winning one-man show, THE LION, at The Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in New York City on April 30. Proceeds from the special one-night-only performance will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Shakespeare Theatre Company today announces the cast of Lerner and Loewe's multiple Tony Award-winning musical Camelot. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul (Kiss Me, Kate; Man of La Mancha), the classic musical will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from May 22 through July 1, concluding STC's 2017-2018 mainstage season.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) presents Rapture, Blister, Burn, an edgy, clever comedy that presents an unflinching and often hilarious look at gender politics in the wake of 20th-century feminist ideals. The Geffen Playhouse today announced the full cast for its production of Joshua Harmon's (Bad Jews) critically-acclaimed hit play, Significant Other, directed by Stephen Brackett. The cast features Melanie Field (Paramount Network's Heathers) as Laura, Vella Lovell (CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) as Vanessa, Preston Martin as Zach/Evan/Roger, Keilly McQuail (Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Kiki, John Garet Stoker (CBS's Code Black) as Will/Conrad/Tony, Concetta Tomei (Deep Impact) as Helene Berman and Will Von Vogt as Jordan Berman.

The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts announces the cast for its upcoming production of Blues in the Night.  Conceived and directed by Sheldon Epps, the production will feature Yvette Cason (Shout Sister Shout, Broadway and film versions of Dreamgirls), Bryce Charles (The Book of Mormon, ABC's "Black-ish"), Paulette Ivory (Disney's Aida and the West End premieres of The Lion King and Blues in the Night) and Chester Gregory (Broadway's Motown: The Musical, Hairspray and  Sister Act).  Blues in the Night will begin performances April 27 through May 20 in the Lovelace Studio Theater.

Certainly Tony Award-winning playwright and performer Sarah Jones has, given the subject matter of her new play SELL/BUY/DATE in which she takes on the role of an instructor presenting an honest, moving and even humorous look at the complex and fascinating subject, all while preserving the full humanity of voices seldom heard in the theater. Directed by Carolyn Cantor and brimming with Jones' masterful, multiple, multicultural characterizations, SELL/BUY/DATE asks the audience to participate as students in a study hall as Jones describes the historical research she will be presenting, recorded with futuristic mind-sharing technology which allows people to truthfully share their opinions on human sexuality and what part it has played in their lives as society evolved into an "anything goes" mentality.

Merle Dandridge, star of Oprah Winfrey Network's Greenleaf and recent star in the Broadway revival of Once on This Island, will receive a Chicago College of Performing Arts Distinguished Artist Award from Roosevelt University.

REPRISE 2.0 is now announced, presenting a season of three classic American musicals at UCLA's Freud Playhouse, by Marcia Seligson, Producing Artistic Director of the new performing arts organization.  REPRISE 2.0 is partnering with the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's Department of Theater (UCLA TFT), chaired by Brian Kite. 

The Geffen Playhouse today announced that Sell/Buy/Date, Sarah Jones' critically acclaimed one-woman show, will extend for one week and run through Sunday, April 15. Written and performed by Jones and directed by Carolyn Cantor, Sell/Buy/Date opens tonight in the Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater at the Geffen Playhouse.

La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to bring back for a sixth year its acclaimed new play development initiative, the DNA New Work Series, a weekend of readings of new works, taking place March 22 - 25, 2018 in the Playhouse's Rao and Padma Makeneni Play Development Center. City Theatre Company, Pittsburgh's home for new plays, has announced the details of the theatre's 44th season of new works. Under the leadership of Managing Director James McNeel, and with the artistic team of Artistic Producer Reginald L. Douglas and Director of New Play Development Clare Drobot, the plays represent a diversity of voices and styles, including laugh-out-loud comedies, ripped-from-the-headlines dramas, and fresh explorations of the world around us.

The Geffen Playhouse announced today that they will be replacing a previously announced production of Fat Pig by playwright Neil LaBute, with a world premiere of Amanda Peet's new play Our Very Own Carlin McCullough to its 2017/2018 season. Tyne Rafaeli (Ironbound, Actually) will direct.
