Jazz at Lincoln Center today announced the 18 finalists who will compete in its 25th Annual Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition & Festivala?"the nation's premier jazz education eventa?"on May 7-9, 2020. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Essentially Ellington, Jazz at Lincoln Center has invited an unprecedented number of the country's top high school jazz bands to compete for top honors in New York City.

The GRAMMY AWARDS Premiere Ceremony took place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 26, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. PT. Preceding the 62nd Annual GRAMMY AWARDS telecast, the Premiere Ceremony was hosted by two-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee Imogen Heap and featured a number of performances by current GRAMMY nominees. Performers included classical violinist Nicola Benedetti, jazz legend Chick Corea, folk music supergroup I'm With Her, West African sensation Angélique Kidjo and Best New Artist nominee Yola.

From January 30 - February 1, 2020 at 8 p.m. in Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center will present the world premiere of one of its most unique concert events to date: the groundbreaking new work Transformation with Glenn Close and Ted Nash.

Today, Jazz at Lincoln Center's Blue Engine Records releases Jazz for Kids, a new digital album from the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis. In the Orchestra's masterful hands, the simplicity and familiarity of childhood favorites like “Old MacDonald” and “Itsy Bitsy Spider” afford a world of musical possibilities for audiences young and old.

Celebrate Kristen Lee Sergeant's return to the Boston stage with her new DownBeat Editor's Pick album a?oeSmoldera?? at Berklee's Red Room @ Club 939, Thursday, October 10, 7 pm. Joining Sergeant will be special guest and Grammy winner Ted Nash, pianist Jeb Patton, and local heavy-hitters Robert Gullotti (drums) and Gregory Ryan (bass).

On August 2, 2019,Blue Engine Records will release the studio recordings of these charts on a new album entitled Jazz and Art.

Trumpeter/composer CHRIS ROGERS has been a featured soloist with many iconic artists in Jazz and Latin-Jazz since the early 1980s, and is one of New York City's highly respected veteran trumpeters.  

Jazz at Lincoln Center's two-week residential high school summer institute for advanced study in jazz performance, Summer Jazz Academy, includes three public concerts at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. These public concerts feature today's finest musicians across generations: the Summer Jazz Academy Faculty and Summer Jazz Academy Student Combos on July 21 and 22, The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra on July 28, and the Summer Jazz Academy Big Bands on July 29.
