The GRAMMY AWARDS Premiere Ceremony took place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 26, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. PT. Preceding the 62nd Annual GRAMMY AWARDS telecast, the Premiere Ceremony was hosted by two-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee Imogen Heap and featured a number of performances by current GRAMMY nominees. Performers included classical violinist Nicola Benedetti, jazz legend Chick Corea, folk music supergroup I'm With Her, West African sensation Angélique Kidjo and Best New Artist nominee Yola.

In past concerts that have been described by the New York Times as being “soulful,” “evocative,” and “playing directly to the band's strengths,” the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis performed original compositions inspired by masters of modern art including Romare Bearden, Stuart Davis, Sam Gilliam, Winslow Homer, Wifredo Lam, Norman Lewis and Piet Mondrian. On August 2, 2019,Blue Engine Records will release the studio recordings of these charts on a new album entitled Jazz and Art.

These public concerts feature today's finest musicians across generations: the Summer Jazz Academy Faculty and Summer Jazz Academy Student Combos on July 21 and 22, The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra on July 28, and the Summer Jazz Academy Big Bands on July 29.
