On Saturday night, BBC America aired the third episode of ORPHAN BLACK's second season, “Mingling Its Own Nature with It.” As always, the show provided plenty of twists, surprises, and award-worthy performances. Here are my five biggest takeaways from the episode.
BBC AMERICA's award-winning thriller, Orphan Black, returned Saturday night with its highest ever A18-49 rating. The series saw a 97% increase in A18-49, doubling the season one average, and is now second only to the channel's highest rated series Doctor Who in A18-49. In addition, Orphan Black was the #1 television show on Twitter and Tumblr for the day and is the #1 basic cable drama on Twitter for the week.
Season two of the series hits the ground running with Sarah (Tatiana Maslany, Picture Day, Parks and Recreation) in a desperate race to find her missing daughter Kira (Skyler Wexler, Carrie). Her scorched earth tactics spark a war with pro-clone, Rachel (Maslany), dividing and imperiling all the clones. Co-creator Graeme Manson told The Hollywood Reporter, '[Sarah is] in a rather similar position than when we met her at the start of the series. She's on the run, she doesn't have her daughter, she barely has a dime in her pocket and has very few places to turn.'
BBC America has released the second teaser for ORPHAN BLACK, which premieres at 9/8c tonight, April 19, 2014. The clip is set to air during the Doctor Who Christmas Special, 'The Time of the Doctor.' Get a first look below!
In a clip from tonight's CONAN on TBS, guest Tatiana Maslany talks about growing up reading Struwwelpeter, a collection of cautionary tales for naughty German children. Watch below!
