Start spreadin' the news! The ninth annual Jimmy Award winners were announced yesterday at the Minskoff Theatre. This year's finalists included: Sam Primack, Nathan Keffer, Antonio Cipriano, Jasmine Rogers, Hatty King, Maggie Gidden and winners Sofia Deler and Tony Moreno.

Update: Broadway League Threatens Lawsuits Against Campaigning Casting Directors

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this month, Broadway might be celebrating a successful season, but casting directors still are not pleased with their standing in the theatre community. After weeks of campaigning for healthcare and other benefits, The Teamsters Local 817 has reportedly received threatening letters from the Broadway League. The union just released the following statement:

He wasn't ready for New York City, but after 14 years of touring, realized it was NYC or back to Indiana. He shares that hair in theatre, TV, and film are all the same language, just a different dialect; that creating wigs is similar to sculpting; and that the hair room is like the kitchen of the party... the best place to be.

The New York cabaret scene has found itself a new star, whether or not anyone was asking for it.
Broadway album designer and social media demagog Robbie Rozelle, who has previously created solo shows for Melissa Errico and Kate Baldwin, decided it was finally Robbie's Turn and brought us SONGS FROM INSIDE MY LOCKER. When he regally ascended to the stage at Feinstein's/54 Below on June 9 as though he were the goddamn mayor's wife, it became immediately evident that this was a man set to lay it all out there for the enjoyment of the masses.
