A friendly reminder! Theatre for a New Audience presents the Yale Repertory Theatre production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece Happy Days, beginning this Sunday, April 23. Two-time Academy Award-winner Dianne Wiest (Hannah and Her Sisters, Bullets over Broadway) plays Winnie, widely considered modern drama's pinnacle female role, alongside Jarlath Conroy, who plays Willie, directed by Yale Repertory Theatre Artistic Director James Bundy.

In a recent feature for Backstage, Thomas Schumacher, president and producer of Disney Theatrical Productions, sat down with Broadway casting directors Tara Rubin and Bernie Telsey to discuss inclusion on the stage and screen. They three discussed this topic in August of last year, and recently reconvened to assess the improvements made in the last year. In this talk, they discussed casting trends they have noticed, as well as the 2015 #OscarsSoWhite uproar compared to Moonlight's big wins this year.

Following last year's hit debut season, BroadwayWorld is excited to bring you a brand new season of Turning the Tables! Featuring Ellyn Marie Marsh, Andrew Briedis, Andrew Chappelle, Julia Mattison, and created by Marsh, Turning the Tables caught fire in 2016 with a season devoted to Broadway's hottest casting directors getting the tables turned on them by the actors. The improv based series featured your favorite casting directors such as Rachel Hoffman, Bernie Telsey and Tara Rubin. Season two will feature a brand-new and unique take on the popular niche web series.

In this episode: Katrina Yaukey of Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, is a quadruple threat, having made a Broadway career singing, dancing, acting and playing instruments; which she feels is just an extension of her voice. She is equally talented at all four and has found her niche. Kat has embraced her uniqueness and has combined her individually with her marketability. She was an oboe major in school, made her Broadway debut after submitting a cassette tape, and today runs up and down stairs at the Imperial Theatre with hot pink in her hair, playing an accordion.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) have just announced casting for the Broadway premiere of Prince of Broadway, a musical celebration, produced by Manhattan Theatre Club, by special arrangement with Gorgeous Entertainment, that highlights the extraordinary six-decade career of director and producer Harold Prince. 

Yale Repertory Theatre (James Bundy, Artistic Director; Victoria Nolan, Managing Director) concludes its 50th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of MARY JANE by Amy Herzog, directed by Anne Kauffman, April 28 through May 20 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Friday, May 5.

Remission, a new musical about vulnerability and hope, announces presentations open to industry professionals on March 31st. The presentations will be directed by Portia Krieger, with books/music/lyrics by Rebekah M. Allen, and casting by Tara Rubin Casting.
