Tonic Theatre Announces TONIC CELEBRATES

Tonic Theatre today announces the second Tonic Celebrates event, part of a new initiative celebrating the achievements of inspirational women in theatre. On Wednesday 19 October at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, Tonic Theatre's Director Lucy Kerbel will be in conversation with new Artistic Director for Shakespeare's Globe Emma Rice, acclaimed stage, radio and television writer Tanika Gupta, and the UK's leading Fight Directors Rachel Brown-Williams & Ruth Cooper-Brown. Tanika Gupta's LOVE N STUFF Returns to Theatre Royal Stratford East

Award-winning writer Tanika Gupta returns to Theatre Royal Stratford East to debut her hilarious and uplifting new comedy LOVE N STUFF on the Main Stage - three years after its first successful run in the Studio. Love N Stuff audience favourite Rina Fatania returns to play the role of Bindi and will be joined by new lead Nicholas Khan in the role of Mansoor. This funny, fast-paced and engaging show sees two actors playing a breathtaking 20 characters and is set to have audiences laughing out loud. Directed and designed by Kerry Michael (Artistic Director, Theatre Royal Stratford East) the show will run from Friday 3 June until Saturday 25 June.

Theatre Royal Stratford East announces its programme of productions taking place from February - June 2016 and the 2016/17 pantomime. The year ahead sees the theatre staying true to its commitment to develop and produce new plays and musicals, as well as reviving one of its most successful runs of the last few years. Adapted for the stage by the award-winning playwright, Tanika Gupta, and with specially composed music by Ben and Max Ringham, Anita and Me paints a colourful portrait of village life in 1970's West Midlands during the era of flares, power cuts and glam rock. Directed by Roxana Silbert, the production transfers to Theatre Royal Stratford East from 29 October, after the world premiere at Birmingham REP.
