Today, in celebration of National Cat Day, producers announced casting for the North American tour of the first ever Broadway revival of CATS. The multi-year tour will launch at Providence Performing Arts Center on January 22, 2019 and play 24 cities in its first season.

As BroadwayWorld reported in July, Academy Award-winner Jennifer Hudson will lead Tom Hooper's upcoming film adaptation of CATs as 'Grizabella', alongside Ian McKellen, James Corden, and Taylor Swift. Until now, their roles had not yet been announced, but Andrew Lloyd Webber has just revealed that Swift will take on either Bombalurina or Demeter.

The T.S. Eliot Estate and the Abbey Theatre announce the third of five annual lectures in T.S. Eliot's name and in memory of his impact on modern letters.

This October, 1,000 singers from across New York City's five boroughs will come together on the High Line for the premiere performances of The Mile-Long Opera: a biography of 7 o'clock. Due to overwhelming demand for tickets to the previously announced performances (October 3-7), an encore performance will be added on October 8.Tickets for this additional night will be made available first to members of the public currently on the waitlist, on a first come, first served basis, beginning Thursday, September 27, at noon. Laurie Davidson has joined the cast of CATS, according to Deadline. The Universal Pictures and Working Title film is based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic hit musical.
