The 2017 Broadway season at Starlight Theatre will conclude on a high-heeled note later this month with the huge-hearted hit musical Kinky Boots. The national tour of Broadway's 2013 Tony Award-winning Best Musical takes the Starlight stage for three nights only the weekend of Sept. 29-Oct. 1.

As reported on BroadwayWorld yesterday, the complete cast for the US National Tour of Harvey Fierstein and Cyndi Lauper's smash-hit musical, KINKY BOOTS, has been announced. Featured in the cast in the role of Don is South African-born Adam du Plessis, whom audiences may recall seeing in productions like THE LAST 5 YEARS, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, THE BOYS IN THE PHOTOGRAPH and CATS.

BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. This Thursday night, May 12th, Broadway Sessions welcomes '16 graduates from the Drama Department at Syracuse University alongside notable Syracuse alums.
Broadway performers will come together on Monday April 25th at The Cutting Room NYC to celebrate female composers in the one night only concert LOVE GOES ON, hosted by Miss Staten Island, Heather Wolf. The concert will benefit the suicide prevention organization, You Can NOT Be Replaced, focusing on the irreplaceable value of each person by passing wristbands. Doors open at 6:30, with the show beginning at 7:30.
Theatre Aspen presents its 2nd Annual Apprentice Showcase -- TAAPestry. Directed by David Gram with Musical Director David Dyer, the event is set for Sunday, August 10 at 7 PM at Theatre Aspen's Hurst Theatre.

Theatre Aspen's new play development series is underway, with the early workshopping of Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater musical Alice By Heart, based on the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland this Saturday, May 31st, at the Wheeler Opera House at 7:30 pm. Sheik and Sater are best known for their 2007 rock musical Spring Awakening which won eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score.
