It was a night full of Broadway and TV reunions for beloved stage and screen star Judith Light at the 2017 Monte Cristo Award ceremony last night, presented by the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center and held for the first time at 583 Park Avenue. Light's LOMBARDI co-star Dan Lauria and 'Ugly Betty' co-star Michael Urie joined in on the celebrations, and Director Thomas Kail presented Light with her honor. Should we call it "Linda and Maria Explain it All?" They certainly do in their performance of "What the Hell is Cabaret?!", to be performed four times in the coming weeks at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on 42nd Street.

On March 13, Vineyard Theatre's 2017 Gala Fundraiser celebrated the 10th anniversary of Vineyard Theatre's hit musical [title of show] with Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff, and a toast to Broadway producer Kevin McCollum. Michael Berresse directed the gala show. Larry Pressgrove was the music director.

Vineyard Theatre's Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce that Joanna Gleason and Chris Sarandon are set to host the 2017 Gala Fundraiser celebrating the 10th anniversary of Vineyard Theatre's hit musical [title of show] with Hunter Bell, Jeff Bowen, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff, and a toast to Broadway producer Kevin McCollum.  Michael Berresse will direct the gala show.  Larry Pressgrove will be the music director. The annual Gala Fundraiser will take place on Monday, March 13, 2017, beginning at 6:30pm, at Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).

For Transport Group, Mary-Mitchell was Musical Director for First Lady Suite and Orchestrator for Hello Again (for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination).

Today, talented actress Gerianne Perez speaks to BWW about making her Broadway debut , and shares her hope that IN TRANSIT will help people feel a little less alone in their journeys from point A to point B!

Broadway has given us many things - both successes and flops, brilliant (and sometimes not-so-brilliant) music, and the opportunity to sit in an audience and be transported to a new reality. For some, myself included, the countless hours spent in an audience (or on a stage), at home listening (and re-listening) to cast albums, or scouring the web for the latest piece of theater gossip are counted as some of the most exciting and memorable moments of our lives. The few hours spent sitting in a darkened theater or following the liner notes as you devour a new musical are sacred - taking us to places we gleefully imagine - places with fantastical characters and beautiful settings. And though you often see a glimmer of familiarity in the plot, the characters you encounter aren't necessarily people you might bump into on the street, have over to watch TV, or call your friends. But in Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen's [TITLE OF SHOW], the current production at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford, audiences aren't asked to suspend reality and take a magical journey to a faraway land, instead, they have the rare opportunity to join four real people, people just like them, who love performing (and making art) as they create something together - an original musical.

So, remember last week when I teased an explosive season finale? I wasn't kidding… and the cast is certainly all in agreement as well… these two episode change everything. Liza encounters trouble with all three men in her life (Charles, David and Josh), but it's not as fun and freewheeling as it was in the hospital. Plus, she gets into a kerfuffle with Kelsey, while Diana makes some new developments in her relationship with Richard, and things with Kels and Colin start to get a little rocky, no thanks to devious little editor Pippa. It's a hell of a ride - to the Hamptons and back again - so grab your tissues and keep your emotions in check… 'cause it's all ahead on this week's final Season 3 recap. This one is definitely a SPOILER ALERT no matter which way you slice it (I tried my best, you guys!!), so don't read if you truly want to be surprised by the episode. The International Thespian Society's second annual New York Alumni Council event, Broadway Back to School, is a benefit to support theatre education for underserved students taking place September 26 at Feinstein's/54 Below.

Honest Accomplice Theatre is dedicated to creating art for social change and last night premiered the  The Trans Literacy Project at a once in a lifetime benefit event on September 19, 2016 at 42 West in New York, NY.   Hosted by Susan Blackwell this evening featured the launch of The Trans Literacy Project as well as a celebrity game night.
