Checkpoint Theatre Presents EAT DUCK

Checkpoint Theatre will present Eat Duck, a new play written by Zenda Tan and directed by Claire Wong. The play will run from 29 August to 8 September 2019 at the SOTA (School of the Arts) Studio Theatre.

Irish Rep Announces World Premiere Of KINGFISHERS CATCH FIRE

Irish Repertory Theatre announces the World Premiere of Kingfishers Catch Fire, by Robin Glendinning (Jennifer's Holiday), directed by Kent Paul (Lost in Yonkers). Kingfishers Catch Fire begins performances in the W. Scott McLucas Studio Theatre on September 11, 2019, with opening night set for September 22, for a limited run through October 20, 2019.

Chester Theatre Company Stages ON THE EXHALE

Chester Theatre Company (CTC) presents Martín Zimmerman's On the Exhale July 25-August 4. First preview is July 25 at 2:00pm, and the opening is July 25 at 8:00pm. Written in the wake of the Sandy Hook school shooting, the play takes a unique look at the issues surrounding guns and gun violence in America. The production stars CTC Associate Artistic Director and Berkshire native Tara Franklin.

Portland Opera Announces Executive Leadership Transition

Portland Opera announces an executive leadership transition, with General Director Christopher Mattaliano, who has led the company for 16 years, transitioning to the role of Artistic Consultant beginning with the 2019-20 season. Sue Dixon, current Director of External Affairs will serve as Interim General Director as of July 15. Dixon joined the company in May 2014 as Director of Development and was named Director of External of Affairs in 2017.

Court Theatre, under the continuing leadership of Charles Newell, Marilyn F. Vitale Artistic Director, and Angel Ysaguirre, Executive Director, has announced casting for August Wilson's King Hedley II, directed by Resident Artist Ron OJ Parson. King Hedley II runs September 12 - October 13, 2019 at Court Theatre, 5535 S. Ellis Ave. The press opening is Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 7:30pm.
