Michael Feinstein To Bring His Live Show To MPAC

Five-time Grammy-nominated pianist and vocalist Michael Feinstein joins forces with Pink Martini's Storm Large to reimagine standards and modern classics that are chilled, shaken and stirred into an unforgettable evening of music at Mayo Performing Arts Center on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 8 pm. Tickets are $59-$99.

MOVIE MIXTAPE: SONGS FROM THE SILVER SCREEN to Feature Storm Large, Ashley Park, and More

The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, gives a concert entitled Movie Mixtape: Songs from the Silver Screen, today, March 15 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, joined by acclaimed vocalists Mykal Kilgore, Storm Large, Ashley Park, and Ryan Silverman. The orchestra performs iconic songs from beloved movies include 'Over the Rainbow' from The Wizard of Oz, 'Moon River' from Breakfast at Tiffany's, 'The Way We Were' from The Way We Were, and 'Footloose' from Footloose.

CROSSING MNISOSE To Open At The Armory

Mary Kathryn Nagle's world premiere play Crossing Mnisose weaves together Sacajawea's story with that of the contemporary fight to protect the Mnisose (what Europeans named the Missouri River) from the Dakota Access Pipeline. As in her celebrated playsManahatta and Sovereignty, Nagle draws a clear, urgent line between the past and the present. Nagle's frequent collaborator Molly Smith (Sovereignty at Arena Stage) will direct.

The New York Pops, led by Music Director and Conductor Steven Reineke, today announces an initial line-up of guest artists for its 36th Birthday Gala, Hat Full of Stars: The Songs of Cyndi Lauper on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall, presented by The New York Pops. The festive evening honors Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning music icon Cyndi Lauper in addition to corporate honoree media executive Ken Lowe, founder of Scripps Networks and Discovery Board Member.

Boston Symphony Orchestra Returns to Carnegie Hall for Two March Concerts

The Boston Symphony Orchestra returns to Carnegie Hall this March for two back-to-back programs in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. In an all-Richard Strauss program on Tuesday, March 19 at 8:00 p.m., music director and conductor Andris Nelsons and the BSO are joined by world-renowned soprano Renee Fleming for the closing scene in the composer's final opera, Capriccio, on a program also including the Sextet and Moonlight Music from that opera, as well as the tone poem Also sprach Zarathustra.

Kirill Gerstein Performs N.Y. Premiere Of Thomas Ad S's Piano Concerto With Boston Symphony,

In addition to performing masterworks from past centuries at major halls and with leading ensembles worldwide, pianist Kirill Gerstein has a deep interest in the music of our time, including that of composer Thomas Ad s, with whom he has formed a close artistic relationship and performs together twice next month at Carnegie Hall. On Wednesday, March 20 at 8:00 p.m., Mr. Gerstein gives the New York premiere of a new piano concerto composed for him by Mr. Ad s on commission from the Boston Symphony Orchestra, which performs the work under the baton of the composer, who is the BSO's Artistic Partner. The concerto is the second work on the program, which opens with Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No. 1 (orchestral version) and closes with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4.

Portland Center Stage Presents CRAZY ENOUGH

To the delight of her fans, the 10th anniversary special engagement of Storm Large's autobiographical, one-woman rock musical Crazy Enough goes on sale to the public on Jan. 4. Crazy Enough broke records at The Armory in 2009 with a sold-out, 21-week run. Beginning with stories of a childhood complicated by her mother's schizophrenia, Large takes us through the ups and downs of the years that follow - sex, drugs, running away to California, and the saving grace of rock 'n' roll.  Crazy Enoughfeatures original songs by Large and James Beaton, including the hilarious and incredibly catchy "My Vagina is Eight Miles Wide." It will be directed by Daniel Stern with original music director Beaton on the U.S. Bank Main Stage. Crazy Enough will open on Large's 50th birthday.
