It's time to walk the line. Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati presents the regional premiere of Skeleton Crew, a compelling drama about a driven team of autoworkers trying to navigate a cutthroat industry. This searing new play is by Dominique Morisseau (Detroit '67 ), a 2018 recipient of the prestigious MacArthur Foundation Fellows Program (unofficially referred to as a Genius Grant). Skeleton Crew is the final installment of Morisseau's powerful Detroit Project, which was inspired by August Wilson's landmark Century Cycle. Playing April 13-May 11, 2019. Directed by Stori Ayers. Broadnax III (The Hip-Hop Project). This marks the playwriting debut of Harper, who has been developing the piece with EST over the past 8 years. Travisville will begin previews at EST's Curt Dempster Theatre (549 W. 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019) on October 3, 2018, with opening night set for October 12, for a limited engagement through October 28, 2018.

Yesterday was a banner day for native Detroiter and prolific playwright Dominique Morisseau. The MacArthur Foundation named her one of 25 creatives to receive a no-strings-attached $625,000 five-year 'Genius Grant.' The film of Lincoln Center's production of her play Pipeline was released for a very limited nationwide screening and it was the first preview performance that night of Pipeline, the headliner for Detroit Public Theatre's (DPT) Fourth Season. BroadwayWorld Detroit spoke with DPT Pipeline Director, Candis C. Jones, and DPT Co-Producing Artistic Director Sarah Winkler, before Pipeline's official opening night on Oct. 6 and here's what they had to say:

University of Michigan presents Dominique Morisseau Play Inspired By Jena Six Case

Racially motivated criminal injustice is the topic of a powerful drama by University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance alumna Dominique Morisseau, to be presented by the Department of Theatre & Drama this month. Titled 'Blood at the Root,' and based on a true incident that took place in Louisiana in 2006, the play will be performed Nov. 16-19 at the Arthur Miller Theatre at the Walgreen Drama Center on U-M's North Campus.
