The Guilford Performing Arts Festival (GPAF) has awarded its inaugural Guilford Foundation/Guilford Performing Arts Festival Artists' Awards to playwright/screenwriter Susan Cinoman of Woodbridge and jazz pianist/composer Noah Baerman of Middletown. The two were chosen by festival programmers and independent judges from a field of applicants from throughout Connecticut. Each will receive a $2,500 grant toward the creation of new work.

This fall God suddenly shows up for therapy in Israeli playwright Anat Gov's "divine comedy," running September 14-30, at the Pluss Theatre in Denver's Staenburg-Loup Jewish Community Center. Produced by Theatre Or,* in collaboration with the Mizel Arts and Culture Center, Oh My God! is an early selection of JAAMM Fest (Jewish Arts, Authors, Music and Movies). God will also materialize at the Robert and Judi Newman Performing Arts Center on the University of Denver Campus for two performances on October 6; and he will then appear for two performances in Boulder on October 13 and 14, in collaboration with the Boulder Jewish Community Center.

Celebrating its 21st Anniversary the Denver Children's Theatre presents the classic fairytale, SLEEPING BEAUTY opening on March 8th and playing through May 4th, running Sundays for families at 1 p.m. and most weekdays starting March 8th at 10 a.m. for school field trips (also open to the public). This live-action, professionally staged theatre production is presented in the Elaine Wolf Theatre at the Mizel Arts and Culture Center (part of the Staenberg-Loup Jewish Community Center) located at 350 S. Dahlia Street in Denver. The show is recommended for kindergarten age and up.

Roberta Piket, one of the most virtuosic and versatile pianists on the current international jazz scene, revisits the iconic jazz piano trio format with the April 6 release of 'West Coast Trio' on her label Thirteenth Note Records. Joining Piket is the consummate rhythm section of drummer Joe La Barbera and bassist Darek Oleszkiewicz-part of the vibrant West Coast jazz scene centered in metro-Los Angeles and whose presence inspired the album's title. Guitarist Larry Koonse guests on two tracks.
