The Public Theater yesterday announced complete casting today for AS YOU LIKE IT, the first show of the 50th Anniversary season of free Shakespeare in the Park at the Delacorte. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, AS YOU LIKE IT will begin previews on Tuesday, June 5 and continue for four weeks through Saturday, June 30, with an official press opening on Thursday, June 21. The Public Theater continues its popular Shakespeare Salon Series this month with an engaging conversation with Director Daniel Sullivan, who will talk about this summer's upcoming Shakespeare in the Park production of AS YOU LIKE IT. Moderated by Shakespeare Initiative Director Barry Edelstein, this intimate event is being held tonight, May 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Chinatown Brasserie (380 Lafayette Street). Member tickets, priced at $20, and single tickets, priced at $25, are on sale now and include a complimentary glass of wine.

Red Bull Theater today announced that Patrick Stewart will receive this year's Matador Award For Excellence In Classical Theater at their 4th Annual Running Of The Red Bulls Benefit on Monday June 4th at The Bowery Hotel (335 Bowery at East 3rd Street).

As first reported exclusively by BroadwayWorld.com last week, the Public Theater confirmed today that Tony Award-winner Donna Murphy has been cast as The Witch in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's beloved musical INTO THE WOODS, directed by Timothy Sheader with co-direction by Liam Steel. Murphy last performed at the Delacorte in the Shakepeare in the Park production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood in 1985. INTO THE WOODS will begin previews on Monday, July 23 and continue for five weeks through Saturday, August 25 with an official press opening on Thursday, August 9.

Nominations in 14 categories were announced today by the Off-Broadway League for the 2012 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. This year's ceremony will once again benefit The Actors Fund. The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00pm EST.

David Furr (Orlando) and Stephen Spinella (Jaques) join the previously announced MacIntyre Dixon (Adam), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Celia), Omar Metwally (Oliver), and Lily Rabe (Rosalind) in Shakespeare's comedy AS YOU LIKE IT, directed by Daniel Sullivan.

As of March 28, 2012, NYTW will have two shows running on Broadway: Once, which opened on March 18 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre to superb reviews, and Peter and the Starcatcher, which begins previews March 28 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Mr. O'Hare and Stephen Spinella will continue to alternate performances of the play.

And then he takes several minutes to sequentially list every major conflict in recorded history from ancient days to the present.
