Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater has announced the expansion of its online programs and events through August 2020. Arena Artistic Director Molly Smith has curated a diverse and engaging Spring/Summer Season, Looking Forward, connecting artists and audiences locally and nationally.
Quinn Armstrong's SURVIVAL SKILLS To Premiere At Cinequest

Writer/director Quinn Armstrong's Survival Skills tells the story of Jim, a rookie policeman who gets in over his head when he tries to resolve a domestic violence case outside the law. Presented entirely as a mid 80s police training video, complete with a Narrator, played by Golden-Globe winner Stacy Keach, it will screen in the New Visions Competition at Cinequest Film Festival in March. In addition to Keach, the film stars Vayu O'Donnell (80/20), Ericka Kreutz (This Is Us, The Handmaid's Tale), and Spencer Garrett (Once Upon A Time... in Hollywood).

Written over 200 years ago, Mary Shelley's Gothic masterpiece retains all of its power to horrify and fascinate. This original L.A. Theatre Works commission is adapted from Shelley's novel by the BBC's Kate McAll, who wowed audiences with last season's A Room with a View. Celebrated actor Stacy Keach stars in the role of “The Creature,' and Adhir Kalyan (Arrested Development, Rules of Engagement, LATW production of The Hard Problem) is Dr. Victor Frankenstein.

Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls has announced casting for his upcoming revival of Molly Sweeney by Brian Friel. In assuming the title role, Chicago favorite Kate Fry returns to the Goodman, following her recent appearance in Falls' production of The Winter's Tale. Joining Fry are stage and screen star Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), who returns to the Goodman following his triumphant appearance in last season's St. Nicholas by Conor McPherson, and Chicago's Christopher Donahue (Oedipus Rex at Court Theatre, Moby Dick at Lookingglass).

CBS Announces Spring Premiere Dates for Two Comedies

CBS today announced the spring premieres dates for two comedies. MAN WITH A PLAN will return for its fourth season Thursday, April 2 (8:30-9:00 PM, ET/PT), after THE UNICORN completes its season run, and the new comedy BROKE will debut the same night, 9:30-10:00 PM, ET/PT, after CAROL'S SECOND ACT completes its season order.
