New York Musical Theatre Festival is in full swing and BroadwayWorld has taken the time to sit down with some of the stars of this years NYMF musicals. Like any great art form, musical theatre is shaped by the events and philosophies of the day. The strength and vitality of musical theatre lie in its ability to stay fresh and relevant. It was with that idea in mind, ten years ago, that the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) was created - to provide an effective platform to introduce new shows, new perspectives, and new blood into the musical theatre canon. Director/Choreographer Jeff Whiting (Bullets Over Broadway, The Scottsboro Boys) helms award winning new musical SINGLE WIDE, an uplifting and inspiring musical about one woman's determination to escape her tiny trailer park for a larger life, will run at The New York Musical Theatre Festival July 17 - July 25, 2015.  The production, with book and lyrics by George D. Nelson, and music and lyrics by Jordan Kamalu, will play five performances at the New York Musical Theater Festival. Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA!, inspired by the songs of ABBA, will now end its historic, record-breaking run on Broadway on Saturday, September 12, 2015, following 5,773 performances. (September 5 was the previously-announced closing date.)

A bevy of Broadway's best, including Kristin Chenoweth, Gavin Creel, Andrea Martin, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Helen Mirren, Matthew Morrison and more than 200 of Broadway and Off-Broadway's most talented performers, will come together this week for the 29th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition.

?Creator and global producer Judy Craymer has announced that Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA!, inspired by the songs of ABBA, will end its historic, record-breaking run on Broadway on September 5th, 2015 at the Broadhurst Theatre following 5,765 performances.

Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus' global smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! welcomes new 'Dynamos' Mary Callanan and Alison Ewing to the Broadway cast as 'Rosie' and 'Tanya', beginning performances this evening, February 2, 2015 at The Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44 Street).

STAGE17 presents the fictional video blog by a Middle (St)aged actress trying to remain visible and viable in an industry that refuses to accept the fact that she is aging, created by two Mamma Mia! cast members Jacob Pinion and Stacia Fernandez, who also stars.

ARIELLE JACOBS who appeared on Broadway and in the touring company of IN THE HEIGHTS and STACIA FERNANDEZ, currently appearing on Broadway in MAMMA MIA!, have joined the cast of BARCELONA in the roles of 'Julianna' and 'Kathryn'.

The performance will take place on Sunday, October 5th, at Joe's Pub (at the acclaimed Public Theater); 425 Lafayette Street, New York, NY. The show begins at 9:00 pm, and there will be a party with the cast after the show in the Public Theater's Bar and Restaurant "The Library". This is a rare opportunity to see Broadway performers in an intimate club setting.

Madame Tussauds New York just hosted a spirited unveiling for the wax figures of worldwide music sensation ABBA as they make their stateside debut, with the help of the Broadway stars from the smash hit musical MAMMA MIA! - Judy McLane, Lauren Cohn and Stacia Fernandez at Madame Tussauds New York, 234 W. 42nd St (between 7th and 8th Aves).
