The Peck School of the Arts announces its schedule of July Events

Anandam Dancetheatre, under the direction of choreographer and Artistic Director Brandy Leary, will present their latest work, DIVERGENT DANCES FOR WINDOWS AND WALLS, a choreographic installation for the unique setting of the Bata Shoe Museum's interior and exterior architecture.

The 6th Annual Wonderful World Awards presented by Beth Israel Medical Center's Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine will honor physician Marvin A. McMillen, MD, legendary musician Levon Helm, and guitarist and Beth Israel patient Andrew Schulman, announced Joanne V. Loewy, DA, MT-BC, LCAT, Director, Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine.

Paul A. Schaefer, Kyle Barisich and Elizabeth Welch, members of the Broadway cast of 'Phantom of the Opera,' will be the opening act at The Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine's 2011 What A Wonderful World Award to be held at Beth Israel Medical Center on Monday, September 19, 2011. Honorees include music legend and actor Levon Helm, Dr. Marvin McMillen, and classical guitarist and Beth Israel patient and volunteer Andrew Schulman.

Featured writers for the May 2011 installment include Riley Thomas and Jonathan Larson Award winner Mike Pettry (The Time Traveler's Convention). Performers for the evening include Alex Brightman (Wicked), Carrie Manolakos (Mama Mia, Things to Ruin), Lorinda Lisitza (Triumphant Baby, ReWrite), Lauren Marcus (ReWrite), Jeremy Morse (Bloodsong of Love), Jason 'SweetTooth' Williams (Bloodsong of Love, Things To Ruin), Jenny Donoghue, Raelyn Hennessee, Jared Miller, Anthea Neri, Riley Thomas, and Miranda Whaley. Executive Producers for NYTB in the D-Lounge are Laura Brandel and Karen Marshall.

The evening will benefit New York Theatre Barn and will feature songs by emerging songwriters Julia Meinwald (Pregnancy Pact), Zoe Sarnak (The Quad), Katya Stanislavskaya (Women on Love), and Shaina Taub (The Daughters).

As previously announced, New York Theatre Barn in collaboration with Prospect Theater Company will present the new all-female musical I Married Wyatt Earp at 59E59 Theaters May 20 - June 12, 2011. The production officially opens on Tuesday, May 24 and stars Heather Mac Rae (Falsettos, Hair, A Catered Affair) and Carolyn Mignini (Tintypes, Fiddler on the Roof).

Film lovers, mark your calendars! The Peck School of the Arts Film Department proudly presents three FREE film festivals in the month of May.

It is GIRLS NIGHT OUT May 5 and the first Thursday of every month thereafter at 8pm, at the heart-pounding fantasy FUERZA BRUTA: LOOK UP.
