WYATT EARP Celebrates Women Composers At 59E59 Theaters 5/20-6/12

As previously announced, New York Theatre Barn in collaboration with Prospect Theater Company will present the new all-female musical I Married Wyatt Earp at 59E59 Theaters May 20 - June 12, 2011. The production officially opens on Tuesday, May 24 and stars Heather Mac Rae (Falsettos, Hair, A Catered Affair) and Carolyn Mignini (Tintypes, Fiddler on the Roof).

On the eve of the opening of I Married Wyatt Earp, New York Theatre Barn will present A Celebration of Women Composers. The evening will benefit New York Theatre Barn and will feature songs by emerging songwriters Julia Meinwald (Pregnancy Pact), Zoe Sarnak (The Quad), Katya Stanislavskaya (Women on Love), and Shaina Taub (The Daughters). The evening will benefit the non-profit theatre company that has been developing and advancing new musicals and plays for the past four years.

Performers for A Celebration of Women Composers include Jeanna de Waal (American Idiot), Tim Young (Next to Normal), Tracy McDowell (Rent), Jennifer Blood (Falling for Eve), Eric Michael Krop (Broadway Boys), Sarah Corey, Ally Bonino, Tiffan Borelli, and Ellen Condon. Additional material is by Dan Collins (Wood), Gordon Leary (Cheer Wars), and Rob Shapiro.

The benefit will take place on Monday, May 23, 2011 at 7:30pm at the D-Lounge in Union Square (at the Daryl Roth Theatre, 101 East 15th St., at Union Square East). Tickets are $20 (plus a two-drink minimum) and can be purchased at the door.

I Married Wyatt Earp has a book by Thomas Edward West and Sheilah Rae, Lyrics by Sheilah Rae, and Music by Michele Brourman (Dangerous Beauty).
