A BroaderWay Foundation will present A BroaderDays, it's first-ever online festival. This two-day festival will feature exclusive events with Idina Menzel, Pass the Mic Broadway, cast members from Disney's The Lion King, members of the ABW Creative Team, and many more members of the Broadway community.

Groundbreaking new feature-length hip-hop/R&B musical Hal King premiered across platforms on February 9, 2021. Set in a late-1950s jazz-era Midwestern town, Hal King brilliantly modernizes and musicalizes William Shakespeare's Henry IV and Henry V, and the iconic character of Young Hal.

A New Holiday is a Christmas musical that follows a 10 year-old girl on her holiday journey of hope, joy and love as she copes with the loss of her beloved grandmother. The production - written by soul singer Brian Owens and actress Sophia Stephens - features an all-black cast and was filmed in St. Louis, Missouri amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lion King is a grand celebration of the magic of theatre and, yes, the circle of life.

Musical theatre actor Ben Roseberry has released an album of his own music as a project called The Fractured Years. 

While I'm well acquainted with L. Frank Baum's classic tales of the land of Oz, and I've certainly seen numerous stage adaptations of his work, I'd never had the opportunity to see THE WIZ, unless you count the film version (and I don't), until now. After viewing the Black Rep's splendid production I'm happy to report that it's a tune-filled spectacle that's brimming with color and movement. It has an Afrocentric, funky mid-1970's era vibe (book by William F. Brown, most of the music and lyrics by Charlie Smalls) that actually makes it seem more hip than you would expect.

Disney's landmark musical event THE LION KING celebrated 5000 Broadway performances on Thursday, November 5 at the Minskoff Theatre. Only eight other musicals have reached this milestone, including Disney's Beauty and the Beast. THE LION KING is the ninth longest-running musical in Broadway history and the first American musical to welcome 50 million guests worldwide.
