Fierstein Hosts Drama League Awards 5/16; Plimpton, Jackson, Stewart Among Co-Chairs

Broadway luminaries Bobby Cannavale, Cheyenne Jackson, S. Epatha Merkerson, Rosie Perez, Martha Plimpton and Patrick Stewart are the first performers to be named as honorary co-chairs for The 74th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 12noon at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square. The event will be hosted by Master of Ceremonies Harvey Fierstein, a past recipient of the Drama League's annual Distinguished Performance Award.

The Critics' Circle Theatre Awards 2007 were hosted today by its Chairman Charles Spencer, theatre critic of The Daily Telegraph, at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London. Top winners included the new production of 'Hairspray,' Patrick Stewart and Rupert Goold of 'Macbeth,' plus new play 'A Disappearing Number,' and actors Charles Dance, Anne-Marie Duff, Chiwetel Ejiofor.
